Nope, desktop chip.
There's a Go7300 though :p
Although... I'd rather see a Go 7600 or Mobile x1800 in the MBPs...

While there's some positive link between Mac-usage and intellect, you shouldn't take that information as meaning that posting on a Mac Forum gets you any intellect points.
So far, you've added nothing but focusing on the messenger. Which is typical, if knowledge about the topic of discussion is superficial at best.
For all to see.
Sleep tight under your Beatles blanket, son.
Sorry Jackie, but I'd want to focus on the messenger too if the subject was 'Bach vs the Beatles' (cough) and the messenger was as condescending, stubborn, ridiculous and as entertaining as yourself.
No one's really trying to claim the Beatles are better than Bach (I can hardly believe I just said that statement seriously), but your arguments are hilariously absurd.
Repeatedly posting in a Beatles thread and sneering at such infantile pop music. Making presumptions about someone's education and throwing your own degrees around. I could go on, but after reading both your stupendous first paragraph of the quote above and your "I have this, and this, and this" signature, it's dawned on me that you must be a joke character. If so, well done. I love the ironic claims of maturity and intelligence.
---
As for the Beatles. My (lower-classed, uneducated) world is a better place with their music in it. ...innit!

...at this moment, it's not a problem most Mac users need to worry about. But blowing it off completely is sophomoric at best.
Yup. As others have said, this isn't an Apple specific problem, but its good to expose the flaws found and get them sorted. Nothing really to see here, move along.
Dang video keeps stalling on me. We much be flooding it with requests.

i don't understand why some people would long for 12 inch ones when macbook is 13 inches. don't tell me 1 inch will make that big of a difference.
and I also don't understand those who bash Apple for not making ultraportable laptops....only Sony makes the true ultraportable (TX series) and it is ultra-expensive. Other so-called ultraportable laptop makers usually lack media drive.
by the way, macbook is the best value of all laptops in the market, period.
finally, to those who would bitch about macbook not having a videocard, Apple is not a charity. They don't give you laptop for free.

Maybe it's time to upgrade the screen size to get more under the hood (and stick the antenna back in there).
Precisely.
I hope they widen it by 2mm so there's room for a modest bezel, instead of that ultra thin example seen a short while ago. There's got to be a little room for a case to overlap the front edges a bit.
If they put the antenna back inside, then the case edges can be shaped for style and comfort. The iPhone 4's edges are just too plain looking. Other than proving they could make a fragile glass phone, it's a pain to hold securely if you're active.
I truly believe this could be a significant upgrade over the 4 if Apples willing to put out the effort.
Just look at the terrific job they did with the new MBA's. If they put the same effort into the next iPhone it will be an incredible model that will get lots of positive press.

I don't really notice a louder volume. I think apple can still improve on the volume.
have you guys realize how bad the volume controls are on the macbook? when the volume is at half, basically nothing is audible. the first 5-6 bars on the volume control are absolutely garbage (except when headphones are plugged in).

I don't mind Radio Shack for random overpriced cables in an emergency, but I would never buy anything else in there. The salespeople are just far too pushy and circle around you like vultures attracted to a rotting carcass.

After 10 years of "Feels Snappier" How snappy can Safari get? How long before Safari actually snaps in half when you move it?

I am seriously thinking of getting out of Windowsworld and the new 24" iMac looks great!:D
From the listed specs this will really rock.
Anybody have advice on whether I should wait for Leopard to come out or not?
Just do it. Leopard will be a coupla hundred bucks when it comes (Spring), no biggie.

I'll call BS on that.
Apple does not design their own batteries. The casing perhaps, but not the core.
They spec them to a vendor. Then vendor does the actual design work.
Pretty cool video here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFj9vbYedwc&feature=player_embedded#at=13) showing the design and manufacturing of the 17" MacBook Pro battery.

Which is probably what they thought when they were designing the first SLRs.
Until someone had the brainwave of sticking in an extra lens element to accommodate the mirror.
And they're going implement this to good effect on a phone camera?

I don't use the iStat widget, I use the intel core duo temp widget. Since I installed the firmware update last night, it doesn't seem to work anymore. Odd.

I know everyone is over-analyzing the banner, but why is iPod pictured close to all the developer tools? Are they finally going to give us an API to program iPod?

So far I have yet to see an official confirmation from a reputable (read "not-rumour") web site.
The "confirmations" flying around all seem to be the rumour sites referencing each other.
Until I see iLounge or MacWorld get an invitation I won't be getting my hopes up for an secret-Apple-ninja-attack event.
Whilst I agree I am more hopeful given the density and consistency of the rumours. But we have been let down before, so tonight and a week from now will have me glued to the Mac in anticipation.

I'm sure you're correct but I'm confused as to what results to believe.
I'm now using istat Pro, Temperature Monitor and Core2Duotemp. All are saying the same thing.
See the screen grab below.
If I put the machine under stress it does go up to 50 or 60 degrees but generally, it's saying around 21 when idle.
Mine used to get stuck at low temperatures like that. It's a glitch in the CPU's measuring stuff.
Download the latest version of smcFanControl. It has a temperature reading, but uses a sensor on the logic board rather than the one on/in the CPU. I get a more accurate temperature now. With my minimum fan speed at 2500rpm, I get idle of around 46C. and gets up to about 77/78C when pushed, but of the course the fan kicks in then and keeps it in check.
I'm also curious about some people likening the fan in the MB to a jet engine. As mine spins up, i can hear a faint whine that sounds a bit like a jet engine, but as it gets faster, all I hear is the 'woosh' of air.

eg. 24" iMac: Did anyone really believe that that one would become a reality? (don't answer that...it is a redundant question).
You mean rhetorical, as opposed to redundant?
If you're gonna try to use big words, at least act like you know what they mean.

1)what is the point on the iPad? I can read my email in 3D? Do the smiley faces in my emails hover in mid air?
2)3D technology has been tested since the 80s...and they all require silly (and expensive) glasses to wear...3D technology needs to go much further and dump the glasses. Besides, 3D basically stinks...yes, some day it will get really good and our Sunday football games will be killer...but I'm still thinking we're 20 years away from a true 3D "tv" experience in our living rooms for under $3000.
