I was going to receive a (female) friend tonight, but she postponed for tomorrow...so this means I will have instead a big "yawning" session tonight at Apple news/rumor sites, with few things applicable to people outside of the US...move along, citizens... :(
why would a female friend postpone?

I just find it really strange for people to defend questionable actions of large companies!

I find no mention of this anywhere, even did a google search.
Care for a link?
It's a joke mate. I even wrote "Confirmed!" on it - that is always the give-away.

In store you should be able to get both discounts.

Pity I can't buy the product.
Why are Apple spending so much money on advertising when they can't even keep up with demand? Makes no sense.
Because they want to continue not being able to keep up with the demand for more time... ;)

With the Mac App Store I can take a quick glance, click update all if there are any updates and be done with it.What happens if you never open the Mac App Store?

I think people's first reaction to see a phone with speakers floating in air.. would be 'wow.. WTF!' instead of 'ew'
I prefer that technology to be made larger and turned into... anti crash aircraft, aircraft that flies on anti gravity and by definition will never crash.
A bunch of floating speakers, who cares! Noise pollution man!

And when we will get to OS XI?
Never. OS X is a brand, it's not really an OS version number. If/when Apple eventually ditches OS X or changes it significantly enough, it will have a new name and identity. (Or maybe it will become iOS X. ;) )

Is it just me, or does the back of the iPhone look like the iPod touch (like recent rumours claimed)?
By the way, it would be moronic for Apple to use 4s instead of 5. They used 3Gs simply because you can't have an iPhone 3G and then a successor named iPhone 3.

The Register reports (http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2006/11/16/apple_amd_laptop_claim/) that Apple may be developing an AMD based solution, although details are very sketchy at this moment in time.
As they say, Core 2 Duo still has the lead, but there is the fact that AMD just bought ATI... Apple may prefer to get more bits from one supplier...

I already posted that there was an antenna hidden in the wall. Now my source tells me the copper rain gutters are really antennas.
They don't drop signal when leaves or rain hit the gutters, do they?

they didn't release iwork and ilife probably b/c of Amazon putting it up on their website early
Actually, I believe it wasn't released at MacWorld for two reasons...
1) Time. They keynote ran about 2 hours as is (already above the average). Introducing two new software suites would easily add another 45 minutes (making the event much too long).
2) The focus was clearly the iPhone, and Jobs didn't want anything to steal its glory.
It makes much more sense to introduce the iPhone at MacWorld and have a separate event for Leopard, iLife, and iWork.

I was somewhat disappointed. The only thing I really got excited about was the MacBook Air and the iPhone update. I said the same thing about last years MacWorld, it left me wanting more...i.e. "One more thing..."

Isn't a healthy chunk of OS X based on FreeBSD?
Yes, big parts of it come from the BSD world.
A free, open source Unix distro? In a sense, if they use FreeBSD and do not contribute back to the very open source community they're borrowing from, doesn't that make Apple a thief?
The BSD terms specifically allow derivatives to keep their sources closed, as long as credit is given.

So the Pink Triangles of the Holocaust are irrelevant?
well are they more important than the other triangles colors ?
everybody can instantly relate the triangle colors yellow and pink but what about those who wore blue triangles ? or black ? or brown ? or green ? or red ?

Sensible defaults. Usability before looks. The iOS scrollbars might look better but they remove usability. Same with the slider, it's not as intuitive.
Apple should not break intuitiveness and usability just to change some esthetics, especially if this is just change for the same of change.
I agree with you completely, but still a part of me always remembers that people don't necessarily like change thrust upon them. Sometimes change is for the better, but the effect is not immediate. I only say this because I have changed the scollbars on Snow Leopard to Lion-like ones as well as using the scroll reverser app, and I have found I prefer these changes and I really like the idea of the bars vanishing when not active.

... "Apple seriously need to reconsider leaving out 3G and the ability to install software if they want to make it in the smart phone business", a phone that doesn't let you install new software is by definiton not a smart phone. ...I find this whole "Apple invented the smartphone" argument amusing. But your sentence there, in all its self-contradictory glory, gets to the heart of the matter. The word 'smartphone' preexisted the iPhone (by your own admission). So no matter what new features it had, and however much it revolutionized the market, the iPhone was not the first smartphone. Come up with a new word, maybe GeniusPhone. Apple likes the word 'genius'.

Female (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Female) (♀) is the sex of an organism, or a part of an organism, which produces non-mobile ova (egg cells).
Looks to me like science begs to differ; a woman is a female human. A female produces ova. Last I checked, M->F can NOT produce OVA.
Sure, they deserve the same rights and respect as anyone else, I dont care if you choose to attach a penis to your forehead, it does not give anyone the right to assault you.

Good luck getting it back.
I've realised most thieves steal near where they live, as it's where they hang out and see opportunities. (no they've never heard of not ******** in their own nest)
I had my bike (only a month old) stolen last week from my front yard (it was heavily locked and bolted to the wall. They cut through the wall bolts with croppers). I assumed it was gone, until I bumped into a teacher who lives on my road.
She said it was possibly a group of rude boys who live at the end of my road - she said the police had visited her school to talk to them three times in one week.
I had a quick peek in their backyard, and I can see what LOOKS like the back wheel of my bike behind a wall.
Hmm. Not worth contacting police, I have no proof it's my bike (brought it cash at a market, no receipt, stallholder brought it at a police auction).
I don't fancy going in either, I'm 32 with a daughter and I don't want to get stabbed over a crummy bike. :(
I can only imagine you're feeling the same way. (You have more proof, but police still won't act.)
