I don't see it.
no, he's right:
"Design to Go... Anywhere
In a program focused on preparing students with the real world experience theyll need in the workplace, the University of Cincinnatis College of Design, Art, Architecture, and Planning is arming each of its students with individual PowerBook G5 computers, letting them take their design tools from school to home to work and back again."
what's up with that? yeah, i'd say maybe an eager beaver in the editorial dept.

I have a first generation al iMac (2007?). I got it about 1 month after it was released. It has been on continuously since then except twice when I moved (within same suburb so probably off for max 3 hours each time). It has crashed about 20 times in 4 years and needed a restart (all but 1 crash was while playing cod 4). I think we may have had 2 short power cuts in that time (inner suburb of Sydney, Australia so pretty reliable power - eg not much extreme weather).
Never missed a beat.
I used to look at a widget I have that shows some stats, you know temp and network activity and such. I can remember uptime being well into the 100s of days at times but never really tried to maximize.

Why not just use Migration Assistant? I used that to transition my wife from an old PowerBook G4 to a MacMini and it was really simple. There were a few quirks since the other was such an old computer using a PowerPC chip, but it made the whole process really simple. I'm now kicking myself for not doing that when I bought my MacPro back in 2009.

uh ok, it's a grey page with a blue box and an cold play video
Sorry man I'm not very impressed, it's clean and simple yes, but the darkish coloured text on the blue box doesn't really have alot of contrast, sure you can read it but it certanly doesn't jump out at you. Plus I've never been a big fan of super minimalist design, add some gradiants!
The text colour needs to be adjusted a bit but here's the direction I'd take it.
hmm..well the colours i've used are taken from coldplay's own artwork. i'm glad it doesn't attract attention..that'd distract people from seeing the video.
anyway, i simply wanted an alternative page to direct specific ad runs to as opposed to a blog posting. and while you may not find a coldplay ad interesting - 22,000 other people did. :)
but thanks for the advice.
note: attached is how it looks (in case i pull the page, this thread would be useless)

As I suspected. Turn the firmware password protection off while you are installing Windows. If you don't have the password, you probably shouldn't be installing Windows on it.
B
D: C'mon. Its just a sad way of my school to prevent us from getting admin passwords. I already have my own admin password just that now the damned firmware passwords getting in the way.We are allowed to install it btw, password's just an extra protection

Just arrived and by best guess there are around 75 people so far. I am sure there is plenty and waiting here is pretty silly but nothing else goin on today so what the hell. Least I have a good chance of getting something I want rather than having to up or downgrade my choice. T-minus 4 hours.
Geez! Around 75 people already. Are you serious?
I want the Black 64G Wifi AT&T model. So there is no up or down choice in my book.

I'm interested to see what he's planning to build in it's place.
His crypt, perhaps a pyramid, or something already designed by Bucky Fuller?

I frown upon WoW as well... I just don't see why it is so fun, its expensive, it requires insane amounts of time, its not competitive, it requires no skill, it messes up Warcraft's story, no no, I just don't like it, plus it takes time away from the developers that could be put to better use, like developing Starcraft 2, Diablo III or even Warcraft IV for instance. Then again, I've never enjoyed a MMORPG.
Right now I'm pretty busy playing F.E.A.R. Extraction Point and Condemned, both games are pretty awesome to play late at night, lights off, alone, headphone and the sound cranked up.
I'm also wasting some free time on Warcraft III (if you don't have WC3 stop reading and go buy it and the expansion) and the Command & Conquer 3 demo. Supreme Commander is a damn fine RTS as is C&C3 which is coming out next week.
Look forward to Shadowrun, Bioshock, Unreal Tournament 3 and Spore later this year.

My favorite is NoLock. I do not have to swipe to turn my ipad or iphone on. VERY cool. To me, this one app is the single main reason to JB.

Are you wanting just one world-editable article each week, or a few? I think having about 5 per week would be more advantageous since a single article represents such a small portion of the Guides, and we have enough people to watch over changes. There are only so many improvements that can be made to one article, so a week seems like a long time to focus on a single page. Take for example the Aperture article, which has only had one change in the last 6 days yet has been the only featured guide during that period.
Finally, would there be a set time each week for the article selection to change, and would it be just you or all the sysops choosing them? If the latter, would there be prior discussion as to which articles to select (eg in the WorldEdit talk page), or would sysops just add articles without consultation?
I think 5-7 articles a week would be great to have world-editable.
I think that Tuesday would be... a fitting day to change the guides. And talking about them first would be MUCH better than random addition. :)
(Yeah, this is an old thread, but I've been in Israel for the past 10 days...)

Ok... this crap HP i have only has 256 ram. I have a few extra sticks of 256 lying around, but i have no way of knowing what type they are. Is there any harm in just sticking them in to see if they will work?
Not that I can recall - with the new RAM, your PC will either boot or it won't, or it will freeze up constantly or it won't. There's a lot of operational consequences to putting in incompatible RAM, but AFAIK none that would destroy your system or MoBo.

Instead of committing fraud, why don't you consider 3 years with a black book good enough and buy a new one?
