Guys, I guess almost everybody is done with their finger printing by now. I am wondering what is the status of everybody's I-485 application on the case-status-online website after finger printing? Mine is showing some weird status, so I thought I better check with others.

My wifes date was sept 13, mine was 15th... I never received the original copy of FP.. Howevr my lawyer received it and she send a me copy. She told me the copy should be fine... when I went there on the 13th the security guy wouldnt allow me saying my date was sept 15th and that I didnt have original copy :rolleyes: I said my lawyer told me that a copy should be ok. He said your lawyer is not incharge of doing FP. :mad: I said I want to talk to an officer... There was an officer who was watching this... he told the guard to let me in... After that it was all smooth sailling... was done with my FP in about 15 mins... Received approval notice on 16th (Yes 3 days!!!) Had my gc on 18th!:D My wife who is the secondary got 2 LUDs on her 485 but no approval... I guess she is stuck in the name check... what is strange is that most ppl who have their approvals have their EADs and APs rejected! In my case however they send both last week... over a month after 485 approval :rolleyes:

I changed address twice since filing my I 485. Both times I e-filed the AR 11 form for myself and my spouse. Also added the I 485 case numbers to it. Both times I received a receipt from USCIS. Also I saw a soft LUD on my application. I did not call any one in USCIS to verify but I have sent copies of the receipt to my lawyer for his records.

I think you have period of 180 days after being out of status to apply for permanent residency. I'm not sure though. It would probably be your best bet to double check with a lawyer and get professional advice. Good luck.
Yes, you are right. Now that I think about it, I do remember seeing that a person can apply for their AOS within 6 months of their being out-of-status. I am in close touch w/ my attorney, and he seems to be OK with the situation, but after seeing some disturbing tales on these forums, I wanted to confirm.

IV members have saved all of us a lot of money on attorney phone calls, getting answers to medical test questions and other general questions. Please contribute to IV so that we can keep this effort going. While everybody is busy collecting documents and paperwork for 485, core IV again is doing their personal paperwork and + lobbying.

We should all write personal letters highlighting what happened and send it to out to congressmen/women. 2 Senators from your state and your house rep.
That will make a huge difference, recently an IV member sent a letter and s/he has already gotten a call from the office, with a promise to look into it.
I called my senator's local office, and they asked me to send a letter, the senator would send an inquiry to USCIS.
Again, LETTER. no email, faxes. The staff clearly told me "Send a letter", and the senator will respond to it. Senator goes thru every postage paid letter.

I sent the pictures last TUESDAY, I was expecting my online status to change to: WORKING ON THE CASE before the do the approval, but nothing.
I need to leave ASAP for Europe and I dont know how long is it going to take for them to mail me the TRAVEL DOCUMENT

Hi everyone,
I just thought of sharing this update on my case for the benefit all those whose apps were received by J Barrett at NSC.
My checks got cashed last night. The details are below:
Received by J Barrett at 10:25 AM at NSC
Case was transferred to CSC and back of our checks show receipt #s as WACXXX
I had an LUD on my approved I-140 on 7/28/07
My I-140 was approved from TSC in May 2006
My PD is Jan 2006; EB2-India

The Senate and the house may be passing the tax refund bill soon (due to slowing economy). There is lot of pressure on the government to act soon.
Can we get them to attach atleast one of our provisions with these bills - the most important and non controversial being recapture of unused visa numbers.
Just a suggestion................I know there is no dearth of suggestions.
We should definitely try (in addition to writing letters).
Can we get some more information about this bill? Who are the key players supporting/pushing it, who/how do we contact to try and push some of these reforms?

If you e-file EAD renewal, you will get FP notice. To avoid it, paper-file your renewal.

We got "Approval Notice Sent" emails 6 days back. I received my EAD 3 days back but haven't received my wife's yet.
Has anyone filed for Replacement EAD? Do we need to wait 30 days from the date we received the approval email? How long does it take usually to receive a Replacement card?
Please share your experiences.

"Card production ordered" is the first status that you will see and then it will change to "Approval notice sent". Tentatively, Your card will be postmarked with the date when your status changed to "Approval notice sent" and it takes upto 4 calendar days to receive the card through mail. Usually, approval notice goes to attorney on file for 765, if you have filed G28 otherwise you will receive it. Call USCIS and find out whether the card is ordered then ask for follow-up actions and decide whether to file for replacement card. There is no separate form for replacement cards - you will still be using same 765 form; I guess, same processing time applies - you may expedite by taking infopass after receiving the receipt notice for your replacement card by providing the letter from the employer. Hope this helps.
