This is correct. I went to USPS a couple days ago. If I fill out the inquiry form and send it in to USPS headquater, they will track it. If it is cashed, they'll let me know who cashed it. If it is not cashed 60 days from when you first bought the money order, USPS will refund the money to me.
The problem for us is: given the chaos and delay in the immigration process, we cannot be sure the USCIS cashes the check within 60 days of receiving it. If we file inquiry for the Money Order with USPS, we risk canceling the MO before USCIS can cash it. Then our case is screwed...
I hate USPS... They should have offered the option to seperat simple inquiry and request of refund... I cannot believe this sh&*&*!:mad:
Good luck to us anyway. Next time, use your personal check or MO from your bank...

If you are an engineer then definitely you should have an ecnr but you can have what ever is on your current passport

Could you guys please update me what happ with your cases etc. i found an employer for h1b transfer and did that on 30th of march 2009 thru premium processing. today again the status has been changed and got an RFE. will find out what was the RFE about etc. God should help me....

Kothuri you are most helpful. I agree and think I will benefit from filing one, but am concerned about the cost involved doing so.
I currently cannot rely on my former employers lawyer and will have to pay for this myself.
Can you give me an indication on the total amount of hours spend by your lawyer/total cost for doing this on your behalf?

I donate blood with the American Red Cross once every 2 months.
The limit that you cannot donate if you visit India is 1 year, per them due to India being infested by (clearing my throat) 'MALARIA'.
You are Ok if you just visitied the Himalayas and got back, though. The virus or whatever that causes it cannot live on high altitudes.
this is a very good idea..but theres only one problem..we had gone to a blood donation drive to give blood..but were not allowed to because they do not take blood from people who have visited third world countries like India in the past 3 yrs.
so we can organise a campaign like this..but blood can be donated only by people who havent visited any third world countires in the past 3 yrs.

I am in exact same situation as you. My 5 yrs on H1 are completing on December 2009 and have around 4 months outside US. We are expecting lay offs in a month or two, I am planning to wait it out and use this time to prepare for the interviews. I reached out to couple of consultants to do my GC as future employee but could not find any one. If anyone knows of someone who can help me please suggest.

I am in for Gandhigiri. I remember we celebrate aniversaries of the success we had when we did this 1st time and only time. Its time we do it again.
I know many people whose cases are ready to be adjucated are keeping a silent note core members or others, and they will become active again when numbers become unavailable.. which makes sense like in many cases. What will you do if your date is current.. be very hopeful for hearing the good news.. and not try to get ANY attention, . right.. Sorry if I hurt anyone,. but what are we waiting for.. economy to pick up??.
But I know many people out there are not even close to or hopeful if the numbers become current.. LETS DO IT. We request IV core to come forward and start a campaign. Please help.

Look at the state of our country's education. Priority in policies should not mean that all other important nation's agenda should remain in standstill.

As of Apr 28 2006, 12:00 PM(EST) we have collected $102,491.10. Our goal is to reach 150k by May 1st 2006. We are running short by just 50k. This is not a big task. We need only 500+ people to come forward and contribute $100+.

I have filed 485/EAD/AP in Aug'07 and changed the address online using AR11 followed by the petitions for 485/EAD/AP for my self and the dependant.
Got confirmation in mail for all the pending petitions after 2 weeks. I have NOT called the USCIS office for the address change.
