I am just waiting and watching what comes next. My only thing is if it was for the FP notice, it was mailed about 20 days before the date when it says 'document mailed' for the final stage. You are right for no one knows what they are going to do with your case. Lets seeeeeee.:rolleyes:

FIFO must be based on PD and not on I-485 application receive date, I hope you meant the same.
there was a thread yesterday discussing this news. It is indeed welcome news. Atleast now USCIS should concentrate on FIFO approvals. There are just too many 2003/4/5 EB-2I applicants waiting in line when 2006 applicants got approved in a frenzy last couple of months...what a cruel joke! and for EB-3I, this news may reveal the total number of cases pending. Nobody seemed to know the accurate count...

All of IV's funds have been used to pay for lobbying, advertising on rediff(not anymore), organization registration, mailbox, domain name registration mainly.
Travel, food, rental cars, hotels for core groups members is not being charged to immigration voice's account and its coming from out-of-pocket of core group.

My Labor has been approved around May 20 2007 and my employer received a letter from DOL stating the same, but the Lawyer says he never got the original Labor certificate. Now I've to file my 140 and 485 together and my lawyer is saying that he'll contact DOL and see what's going on, but he says that we can file 140 and 485 concurrently with the piece of evidence we have (the letter from DOL to my employer saying that my labor has been approved).
Will it be any problem with USCIS if we proceed this way ??

Today, Robert Rector, the immigration guru at the conservative Heritage Foundation testified before the House Judicary Immigration Subcommittee.
It should be mentioned that Rector is the ideological guru of immigration restirictionists like Loo Dobbs, NumbersUSA, FAIR, CIS, Jeff Sessions and Tom Tancredo (I bet we'll remember these names in the years to come...).
The full testimony is interesting, but this was this conclusion

In the future, U.S. immigration policy should encourage high-skill immigration and strictly limit low-skill immigration.

This is like a stock broker advising a client to buy two stocks, one which will make money and another that will lose money. Atleast that is one thing good in California. May be because we pay the highest state taxes in the nation next to NY. If you are living in the border areas. check with IL or IN about their feee schedule and explore if she could enroll in one of the colleges there. Most of the states in midwest grant instate tution to residents of neighbouring states who are in the neighbourhood counties. I know for sure that Indiana does. They also charge instate tution for spouses since you are a resident of the state.
The law states that you will be charged instate tution if you are a resident of the state by virtue of living in the state except in cases where you come to the state to get education. Check it again for Michigan and expore the neighbouring states as well. Best of luck.

Today when I looked the I-485 status I found the status changed to card production ordered. I'm traveling to India on 1st Dec (coming saturday). It is a business trip and I'm unable to postpone it. My attorney says If I travel now, they will consider the GC abandoned. Is this true?? I have an approve AP with me. I also planned to stamp my H1B visa in India. What a confusion!
Gurus please give your thoughts.

As far as I know, if you re-enter using AP, you should just be fine..I would not get the H1B stamp and enter on H1....

So what do I do.

I do not know how can you apply for the green card from the SubWay. If it was Indian hotel people apply as international Chef. But SubWay does not need that kind of expertise. If you want do the business that is fine. 200K seems little high even for the green card.

I got my EAD and AP but no sign of fingerprinting. My wife has also not got her EAD. It is past 90 days now. Please anyone advise. Called the USCIS and someone just read from the website that EAD is pending.

if your application is ready to get a visa you will get it , we cant force USCIS to do some things neither its a defined process that application SHOULD be preadjudicated its like a best practice

Hi Friends.
I got the pink slip 3 weeks back with one month severance. So my target was to secure the job in one month to avoid loss of pay. Finally secured the job with 3 offers from 3 top companies.
Some tips if it may be helpful to others , that I recently expereinced
1. Read your resume thoroughly and see if there are anything that you can improve and make the resume with the core skills, do not make the resume of mix of different profiles, like dba, architect, project manager, make them all seperate.
2. Try to make the submission to the direct employer or recruiter on top of the chain. You can do that finding contacts on linked in.
3. Do not compromise a lot, this makes these recruiters to think that you are vulnerable for any exploitation, (happened with me, I kicked there butt after getting selected and telling them on why did I do that)
