Hi,
I have two internet connections here, one via GBit-Ethernet to my Mac Mini and a slower one connected to my WiFi router. I just bought a wireless printer, thus I need to connect the Mini to the WiFi to print.
I think this is not explicitly specified, but which connection will be used to route to the internet? It would be unfortunate to use the WiFi, as it's about 5 times slower.
Can I set the wired connection to be default for all connections, and route only the traffic that really has to go into the WiFi? All that comes to mind at the moment is removing the gateway/router address.
Better ideas?

Tried to send you a pm, but your box is full.
Put me in line, if not first in line pending pics. I would like a machine of these specs. Consider me a serious buyer if there is no serious damage.

Ok, listing everything would take far too long, but last year i bought a lot of ibook pieces from another member here, picked out what i needed and fiddled with some of it.. and now I am going to be moving in a few weeks and want to get some of it cleared out.
ALSO - any of the bottom or lcd cases can be dyed or custom painted (inside for g3s and outside for g4s) before being shipped off to you for an extra 20 for g4 painting 30 for g3 painting (have to remove the white paint on the inside takes longer and more supplies) and 40 for dye - as it takes a lot longer and dye costs the most.
See my website http://web.mac.com/katyelizabeth -> other art - computers to see examples of painting!
I have TONS of 12inch ibook g3 and g4 top cases
a few bottom cases of both as well and a FEW 14inch ibook g3 cases
They are in various stages of painting, some painted, some plain , some clear, some primed, some normal - bunch of experiments
I have 3 batteries, all hold a charge, but some less then others
i have a powerbook 12 inch battery that holds a bit of a charge
some logic boards with various problems
screws gallore!
inner frames gallore!
3 harddrives 10gb and 20gb
a semi working optical drive
Random bits of ram
Cables, cords, random bits
fans, more cables,
KEYBOARDS (g3 ibooks) AND topcases (trackpad etc) (from both g3 AND g4 12inchers and i think a 14incher in there for a g3)
An original airport card SOLD
hinge covers, a complete top case with LCD - may or may not be functioning, looks to be in good shape though.
thin metal sheets that go in side and over the back of the top cases and more...
I have a bunch of other stuff, and will post some pictures of the piles... but if you have an ibook g3 or g4 and are looking for a replacement part or just want something from one of them, let me know, i probably have it!
PM me an offer or drop one here with what you want and your offer (including shipping please)

In a similar position - in that I'm looking for a scanner to digitise my wives film slide collection (approx 2000 slides). At first I was looking for film specific scanners (for film negative and slides). I've now heard Canon have dropped this dedicated line and replaced it with scanners such as the i9950 (thats the Euro name).
I find the http://www.photo-i.co.uk/ site provides some useful tips.
Good luck.

Hey guys,
First of all, great website!
I was wondering if we could get an iOS forum as well, since there's one for Mac OS X, and none specifically for iOS (unless i'm blind). It seems that a lot of people are talking about iOS updates in the iPhone or iPad or iPod Touch forums.
What do you guys think?

Make sure you're getting RetinaPad for the official source. If you try to use a cracked or unauthorized version, then it will not work. My friend tried using the cracked version and all of his iPhone apps crashed when installed. I told him I'm using the officika paid tweak, he went ahead and bought it and it works perfectly.

You can't use a disk that came with another mac. You need to use a full retail version. Also you will need to do a clean install, you can't do an upgrade install coming from Tiger.

I thought that Mac OS is immune to security threats?
no operating system is immune, mac osx just does a better job of protecting itself and hackers usually go for windows because more people use it

I'm pretty good programming in PHP and Javascript, but now I need something that allows me to create simple desktop apps. Mostly it will be for automation scripts, too much for Apple Script, but not complex enough to jump into Cocoa and Objective-C. Examples: Manipulating text files (sorting, dupe line checking, adding/cutting parts, splitting/combining files etc.), uploading a file to several different FTP servers, sending POST requests to a server.
I often hear Pearl and Python mentioned and I believe they are pre-installed on the Mac, but I don't know much about them. What's the main difference? Which one (or something else?) would be best suited for these tasks? Which one is easier to learn?
Bonus: What's a good site to learn for someone who has general programming knowledge, but is a total noob with those languages?

i would put down like 100-150. becouse of the hastle / possibility of having to pay for it to be fixed.
Unless the magic cracked iphone screen fairy is going to come around and fix this one night while you sleep, I'm guessing the possibility of having to pay to get the screen repaired is quite high.

I too second onyx (http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/11582/onyx). It's a great app for clearing out caches, logs, checking disks and tweaking some of OS X features.
