Thanks a lot Ragunath. You saved my $1150. Sheila was asking $1150 for processing.
If you dont mind will you please share your case?
How did you proceed further after denial?
Thanks again.

I received a letter from uscis/DHS on Jan 28.
It was in response to my request about my wifes I-485 being in namecheck for a long time.
The response stated:
"The review of our records indicate that the investigation into your background has been completed. The processing of your case has been delayed because the requirement review is still in process."
Does this mean that the namecheck has been completed?
What is "requirement review"?
Did anyone else get this type of letter?
Wifes Case dates:
PD - Jul 2003
Interview Date - Jan 4 2006
Type - Family based ( on marriage )
Info Pass - Sep 2007
Last FP - Oct 2007
LUD - 10/2007 ( probably because of FP )
Current Status:
On October 7, 2003, we received this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when yours will be done. This case is at our NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

..........
My questions are:
1. What happens to my wife's I-485 application, should I choose to leave my job and go back to school ?
2. Will her EAD still be valid if I leave my job ?
2. I am planning to go full-time starting Fall 2010. Will we be able to renew her EAD independent of my work status ?
Thanks a lot for your time and attention,
1. No Impact. Since you have been working for GC employer for a while, you can use green card to work for any employer, study, or not to work at all.
2. Her EAD is based on her I-485 application. Her EAD will be valid.
3. See #2.
Good Luck.

Its only Mahabharat - people started forgetting Ramayan & Mahabharat.
Big deal!
If Bush can be the Hanuman, McCain can be Narad Muni and Palin the Surpanakha, then whats the difference between Ramayan & Mahabharat.

My wife got hers from:
Josef Silny & Associates | Foreign Credential Evaluations (http://www.jsilny.com/html/foreign.htm)
The school actually asked to use them.

We are running a small funding drive as a gesture of support IV for answering each other's questions in times of need.
If your question is answered by a fellow member, do make a point to contribute some amount. It will help continue this effort.
We understand everyone is busy with I485 filing and have put everything on hold. But we have not put our efforts on hold in the interest of this communty and this cause. Core is working on this issue despite being busy on their own I485 filing.
We are also working with our lobbyists on CIR and as soon as there is an action item we will post it on the forum for all to participate.
At this time, do take out a couple of minutes off your busy schedule with I485 filing and contribute towards Immigrationvoice.
Thanks

Instead of a ps7 section...I think we could do a imaging section or something generic....Because I know some cool tricks with fireworks mx and PSP7........Do people still use paint shop pro....I know i do
Oh mdipi if you use this technique....I would blur the image allot higher than you did in your example....Because I can tell it is a sunset.....unless that is what you wanted. It works better when u cannot tell what it was.:cowboy:

What exactly does it mean when you say "Use the EAD"? My H1 is valid for next 3 yrs and i dont want to use the EAD (hopefully I'll get it), how do I make sure I dont use the EAD. Does it cause confusion in port of entry when you have both a vlid H1 stamping and EAd and AP?
thanks.
By getting EAD you are not using it. When the company submits new I-9 form along with EAD that's when it get's "used". I'm in the same boat, will keep extnding H1 and also keep EAD as a backup

You can apply. Depends on type of loan. May not require a cosigner also. Enjoy US free market economy.
Can you please provide some more information on applying for a student loan without a co-signer, when you are not a GC holder or US Citizen? Thanks

My husband is working on H-1 B and his I -140 is approved and I am on H-4 visa. I am trying to get in US medical residency and most likely I will get J-1 visa
I have following questions -
1) Do I qualify for non-immigrant, J-1 visa considering my husband's I-140 approval? Would his I-140 approval not have my name associated to it ?
2) Once I accept J-1 visa, would I be able to file I-485 when my husband's PD will be current?
3) If I decide to quit residency after few months/year to file, would I be able to convert my J-1 visa to H-4 visa again?
4) After converting H-4 visa would I be able to file I-485 once my husband's date is current?
5) How difficult or easy is to get J-1 wavier
Thanks in advance for your replied

Ooooh my bad. Sorry about that. It's kind of like joking about bombs in an airport lol. Its kind of an edgy subject. Anyways, congrats!
It's all good.
That's the problem with sarcasm on the Internet. You can never be sure that it reads the way it was intended. No matter how many emoticons you throw in :)
Congrats to you too. You had a hell of a lot of good entries. I really, really liked your lava flow.

is there anyway USCIS would find out that this person changed jobs within 180 days of 485 filing when he or she applies for H1 transfer? and then that could result in 485 denial?

My docs and signed applications reached attorney last Friday. Paralegal seems to be working on it as he keeps sending questions by email. However, when I asked the forms might be mailed by June 29th, he didn't reply. My feeling -by the questions asked- is that my form are complete. I'm hoping he'll mail it latest by first week of July.
