eb3retro, As you may have noticed, this was my first post ever. So I am not aware of what rules you guys have been trying to enforce on this forum. However I like to have my privacy and refuse to share any info that is not pertinent or until I feel comfortable enough. so long .....

Thanks for responding. What happens when we get a RFE or NOID. Could we respond by ourself then? My case is not complicated at all. As straight forward as it could get.
I am going to search in this forum for sample covering letter. But if anybody has the info handy please let me know.

RFE and NOID come with a color sheet of paper with your details and some USCIS internal codes for your case. You can respond by yourself and put the sheet on top - this is for the mailroom to handle your case

Some of the answers i know. I did a H1 transfer in 2004 and travelled to india.
I have to leave for India on Saturday for my wedding next weekend.
My possible scenarios :-
1, Case status online changes to Approved, I can travel to India before receiving the approval notice ?
Yes. Make arrangements for your company to send you these approval notice to India
2, Case status is still pending, they need more RFE. In that case, can I ask my new company to provide the RFE when I am in India ?
For h1 transfer i think yes. Alway your company responds. You need to just provide the info. confirm with others, i am not completely confident
3, Case status approved, I wait for a couple of days before I get my I-797 approval notice, that means I will have to change my travel plans. I really can't put it off, since I am traveling for my wedding next weekend.

yes, but your visa has to be renewed on new approval. Old approval may not be valid. If you already have a valid visa you don't need a new visa. (This was what i was told that time. Things may have changed) Always better to get a new stamping

Yes, it is frustrating to miss it just by one day, I don't think we can appeal against it, let us wait for the original card to see whether we have any luck. I also filed at NSC.
I got the e-mail that card prodn. is ordered. Not sure if i'll get one year or 2 years EAD renewal now. I filed in Nebraska center. I called USCIS and asked them but they are not sure either.. I hate to miss out of 2 yr EAD just 'cos it got approved today but not Monday. Is there any way to appeal for a 2 yr EAD ????

I'm trying to understand if it is a general practice of USCIS to specify an A# on the FP notice. My FP notice has an A# that starts with USCIS A# A08xxxxxxx. I wonder if this means that a visa number has been assigned to my case. If not, is it merely another case or alien number? I got the paperwork from my attorney for my wife's 485 as they want us to be ready so that if dates are current, we just mail the paperwork without having to start at that time.
However, my wife is pregnant and i am not sure if medical examinations are possible. What are my options ?
Complete medicals without the vaccines, etc which cannot be taken during pregnancy. The Civil surgeon shoould make a note on the medical report that the applicant is pregnant and so medical is incomplete.
When your 485 is picked up for processing, an RFE will be issued and then she can complete the rest.

Hello Folks,
We should call the new organizations. But in this case people will talk about this issue for a day, maybe two. The one thing that will catch people's attention is we do something OUT of the way!
I support one suggestion put forward by one of our members - Go the Munnabhai way! Send them flowers! Do you guy have any idea what kind of news that will be? If USCIS suddenly receive 1000s of flowers everyday? Granted we will be spending money from our pockets but that is a small price to pay to make our woes known to others!
This is really a cruel joke played by DOS and USCIS! We should not stand by and do nothing!
So, if people are interested... let us start a send a flower a day campaign!

If we plan to send flowers, we should send them to the SAME place, same person, if a 100 different news stations receive these flowers, this would be of no consequence, the ideal person to send these to would be Bill O reiley, God (yea I invoke his name ;) knows that he loves to talk aout himself, and if you get him involved, and throw in the words like , "BUSH wanted us to be able to AOS", he is going to be all over it.

Unfortunately Yes...i had infopass appointment on monday and IO told me samething. NC has to be cleared before 485 can be approved. But they are targeting they will clear NC within 180 days after Feb 2009.

I am currently holding L1 and B1 visa from a company A. Now some company B has applied for my H1 Visa. If I get H1b visa, does both L1 and B1 get cancelled.

My experience at H1B stamping was that they canceled all my previously stamped visas and wrote/stamped "CWP" or "Canceled without prejudice" on them

Satyam used to have the policy of not sponsoring green cards for foreign employees in the US - except under very rare circumstances.
If you have GC plans, then Satyam may not be the place.

I also called the number 202-224-7703. The lady told me that, it is scheduled for hearing this fall and we can check on Website judiciary.senate.gov . She said, usually they post the date, 1 week before the hearing in the committee. She is also told that, she is going to pass on the message for hearing, to the senators.
