Found a black 16gb wifi at a Walmart in The Colony. They're popping up on the online inventory checker. I'm still not sure whether to keep it or try to make a few bucks on the second hand market. It's starting to settle down a bit, so I may be outta luck.

1) 4G
2) USB 3.0
3) Thunderbolt
4) up to 8GB ram option
Mainly 1 and 2 but 3 and 4 would be nice as well. Don't give a hoot about BL keyboards. I always turn it off as it sucks power.

This can be expanded to include buying gear in general, like strobes and backdrops, etc...
You don't need much gear at all to get started doing great photography - you just need to be good with people and have reasonable photo skills. If you are have that, then all you need is a reasonably sharp and long-ish lense and a window. See Lloyd Erlick (http://www.heylloyd.com/) for example. I don't think he is still active, but he was shooting 4x5 BW portraits by window light. I think some of his portraits are the best I have seen. I've learned from him to try and keep my portraits simple. I tell my students that doing portraiture is both the easiest and the most difficult kind of photography there is. Easy because you can make great portraits with window light, and one good lense on a camera. If you want to get fancy you can add a reflector :) . Difficult, because you need to work with people.
One of the things I love about photography is that there's as many approaches to photography as there are photographers. I could never shoot portraits like that.
I love punchy dymanic light with heavy stylisation and lots of retouching, think multiple grided strobes, silver gridded beauty dishes etc, really hard light.
I suppose it depends on if you view photography as documentation like Lloyd Erlick or as way to create an image of somebody that's impossible in real life. I never let portrait clients see the images straight out of the camera, the lighting I use is way to harsh and makes people look awful because it highlights wrinkles, underlying tonal differences and facial hair, but it provides a great base shot for super softening and styling later in photoshop.

Steve looks the same as he did at the last two keynotes.
Exactly what I said before this thread turned into a shambles...there's no way to tell whether he looks better or worse than the last six months - it's just the same.
And I am gonna mirror another poster's question: was the bad actor banned?

it is strange that they added a fourth band (VIII - 900 frequency) which is for more of europe, asia and also vodaNZ but doesn't open up anything in the US... even stranger is that i was just in NZ and my 3G[S] (which doesn't support VIII / 900 apparently) was on the vodaNZ 3G network the whole time. anyone with knowledge of this whole UMTS / HSDPA band and frequency thing, please tell me how this worked then?
answer this myself... apparently they use I / 2100 as well.

This brings up an interesting question for me:
Since the Mac mounts Windows FW drives no prob, couln't you just move the PC's HD to a FW enclosure, and connect it to the iMac?
Just guessing...

I got a Nexus One on T-Mobile. My bill with 500 minutes (free nights and weekends) unlimited text, data plus taxes and fees comes to $65. Compare this to an AT&T plan and you pay more for just phone (less minutes). I would switch to the iPhone as soon I as can have it on my plan.
Steffen
depends on who you are. my bill with 500 more minutes and rollover, 1500 text and unlimited data is only $7 more than yours. of course I have had my voice plan for almost 8 years
and tmobile is simply awful

I don't believe that either nail it on the head. While they're both a vast improvement, the proposals still need a little work in my view.
While I don't have anything to lay on the table right now, I'll come back and post when I've had thinkies.

x2 of what you said.... you verbalized what I was trying to say a lot better than I. :o
Thanks! :)
I wish they included this but I guess it was more detailed then they were willing to broadcast.
After NewsToons was turned down in mid-December, Mr. Fiore did not try to submit it again, “mainly because it seemed like it would be so daunting.”
“It’s not like I had a phone number for someone at Apple,” he said, adding, “interestingly enough, I do now.”
Just goes to show how two-faced they are.. :(
Look, believe it or not I'm a big fan of Apple for the most part but the UGLY way they've handled the APP store was/is just too much for me to not speak my mind about it. Oh and before people start screaming... WELL YOU HAVE A CHOICE... Yea I'm well aware of my rights and freedoms and one of them is to LIKE Apple and their products and STILL speak the truth about their militant behavior they exhibit over the APP store.
Thanks! :)

They could also be having problems with fit because a white iPhone is taller or wider than the black one. Has anyone measured the other dimensions?

AGREED!
This is VERY SIMPLE people! The person with the iTunes account simply needs to SIGN OUT BEFORE handing the device to the child!!
People in this country just don't want to take responsibility for their ignorance! And common sense seems to have gone away at the rapid pace of lawsuits over anything and everything over the last couple decades or so. ...maybe they did this on purpose because they thought they could sue Apple and get big $$$.
What the H*ll you want people to be responsible and think, now dare you sir, this is a country build on dumb and dumber if you just read the news. Yes i was been sarcastic. :D
But serious I know enough people to know todays average parent does not even know what the kids grades are less how to manage something as sophisticated as a Ipod Itouch. :o
I mean that thing is like brain surgery, in no way should they have to look at the setting and see what is possible, or even call up the browser and do a search. pfft how dare you ask so much ;)

Except race has been shown to have an effect on intelligence. Ashkenazi Jews are about 1SD above whites, on average (average IQ 100, SD = 15). Blacks typically fare about 1SD lower than whites.
1. You mean Ashkenazi Jews are 1SD above NON-JEWISH whites? Because last time i checked Ashkenazi's were white.
2. It actually has nothing to do with race. Jews have a higher chance of being college educated than non-jews, and blacks have less of a chance of being college educated than whites altogether. It's not genetic, its the result of a combination of social factors.
So in short, race has no effect on intelligence. Upbringing does.

I find it funny how investors continue to trust these "analyst" even though none of them have any insider information and are wrong 90% of the time, the other 10% of the time they have been correct was from publishing rumors as facts from stories they more likely read here on MacRumors regarding future products.
http://www.macrumors.com/2010/10/06/early-apple-tv-sales-estimated-at-1-million-per-quarter/
like this guy "Alex Gauna" who called 20 Apple Stores around the country and already determined that the new Apple TV is selling at a rate of 1 millions units a quarter, even thought Apple Stores never give out any information of how many units have been received or sold.
how do these people still have jobs?

The president and CEO of Eneco, a "development stage company" that claims to have developed a small chip that can convert heat into electricity, claims that he is in talks with both Apple and Dell regarding his company's technology.
First reported on an IT Week blog "Green Business News" (http://green.itweek.co.uk/2006/11/eneco_details_r.html), Eneco claims that their chips can produce electricity from heat at up to 30% efficiency.
The company says it is already in talks with both Dell and Apple about how the chips could be used in their devices. Initial talks have focused on integrating the heat conversion chips into the device so it can harness the heat generated by processors and turn it into electricity to power fans or other cooling technologies. By harnessing this power the devices, be they initially laptops and handhelds, or later even servers and PCs, should see improved energy efficiency, extended battery life and enhanced performance.
There are issues with the chip, as are to be expected from a development-stage product based on a new technology. At the present time, Eneco hopes to begin production late next year or early 2008.
