For the user who mentioned that he was behind OS X flaws (you mentioned iTunes bloat) - you are wrong. iTunes isn't run directly by the Mac OS development team, it has its own department. There's probably a little crossover however generally he wouldn't have much input on iTunes.

The iPad isn't a "serious" computer. It's just a toy.

It is a toy. You can't seriously think that professionals are going to depend on Photoshop for iPad and throw away their computer can you? That's like throwing away your computer because GarageBand is also available on the iPad, and attempting to produce an album on an iPad. Impossible.
No matter what Steve says, it is a toy! I think it is brilliant you can do these things on such a simple product for the average user, but they are nothing more than for... the average user.

iPhone 4 for both me and the girlfriend. We decided to consolidate our phone bills, and FaceTime was a primary deciding factor for her. Decided to keep it light on the gifts this year with the addition of a new car, apartment/furniture, and a puppy.

What i find hilarious about people being afraid of the gvernment statement is that if the gov wants ur info, they will take it. Apple really isnt the people to be afraid of. I would rather have seen a special event for the iPhone and let MWSF be what it "usually" is. Not that I was disappointed about the new stuff but the lack of news about Leopard and other computer related stuff made it a so-so event. Sigh.

I meant I had been on better behavior recently (actually reporting stuff rather than dropping in a macro and running), and that that could be looked upon as "kissing up" to current admins. I didn't mean for people to kiss up to me :)

BTW, DVD Player only supports HD-DVDs created in DVD Studio Pro. It will not play retail HD-DVDs. :(

Shake was pretty much the standard compositing tool for big budget movies when Apple discontinued it. So, a lot of people were using it, funnily, a lot of people still using it, despite being discontinued, it's still a solid product.
I still use Shake and have had no issues.... :D

hi i have just bought an ipod touch from my friend she deleted all her songs etc from it but it wont let me add any apps or any music,i have spoken to apple and they have said to restore and update but that hasnt done anything can anyone give me any advice on what to do ? thanks x

Hardware limitations. If your computer doesn't have a Wacom pad attached, you can't run software that requires that piece of hardware. It doesn't mean you're running a different OS.
You can still run the software. You just cant do certain things. An ipad specific app can never work on an ipod touch

There's a VP of hardware, etc. I guess you tend to hear from them since they're also spokesmen. I assure you, there are lots of coders and PR people and guys in shipping who aren't VPs.
