AFAIK, you will start accruing unlawful status once your 485 denied and you do not have a non-immigrant to status to backup. You should stop working. You will regain the status (i.e. pending AOS) only after the MTR is approved.
If you can post the legal references to support your point, it will really help many IVans.
You are right, what i meant to say is that a MTR turnaround time is usually less than 6 months. And its not that the I-485 keeps getting denied more than once. For one denial, assuming a turn around time of 4-5 months, its still within 180 days of the 'allowed' time to work while out of status.

I am working on Company A in H1B status my GC sponsored Company B for Future Employment and they applied 140 its Approved suddenly dates became current I applied AOS with 140 Approved in July afte that we got our EADS APs FPs all etc. my sponsored employer asked to join then I joined in Company B on EAD status
what ever the payment terms which I discussed within a month he changed his words according to law he only pay salary but I am working on percentage basis I liitle bit fed up with those issues
I stayed with them only one month and one more month
when can I Use AC21 for safe side

DOn't be panic, but I would suggest you not to go to Canada/Mexico for stamping. I heard through my friends that there is always a risk to deny visa stamping from Canada/Mexico, and the consular officer might ask you to apply your visa in your home country.

We did not renew her I-94. She's my dependent and I'm EAD. She doen't even have an EAD, I haven't appllied for her yet.
Our I-94 are expired now and our AP too. If I need to travel, I will need to apply for a new AP.
BTW, we entered through Denver (DIA).
All you need is your passport and AP. That's all!!!!

Here is what I can advise
1) Get all the supporting documentation that you have for both cases. Example tickets/ citations, fine receipts, any other docs related to the case you can find. make sure you make photo copies of all documents
2) Get a court dispositon documents for both cases to prove that the cases are closed and fine was paid
3) Make sure you run all these documents past your immigration attorney to ensure nothing is missing. Also get in touch with your lawyers that handled the DUI & other case to see if they can help you with paperwork
4) If you are not comfortable defending you case you can take an attorney with you. That is entirely optional thing.
5) No one on this forum or immigration officer has any moral right to tell you what you did was good or bad. Its the job of courts and they have already made you pay fine. So as long as you can furnish all relevant papers that these cases are closed you are fine with your immigration process.

I've done the entire process on my own untill today. I also did not have any lawyers involved in any of the misdemeanors. I do have documentation of all the cases. All cases are closed and I'm just paying the fines and have to put up with the probation. I spoke to a lawyer (first time I met with him) today and he advise me to pay him $600 to accompany me to the interview.
Any take on the lawyer's advice? Or can I take the challenge on my own?

Please consult an attorney. Your case is not str8forward. Please be ready to show the documented proof in case of an RFE.

FYI: Reg. EAD, AP and H1 usages and Extension possibilities:
I entered as a Parolee last year using AP. I have EAD since 2005 - but, never used it due to continuous H1 apprival with Sponsoring employer.
My H1 expires in few months and my empoyer applied for extension; I just heard that it is approved this week (I did not get any papers yet). My employer uses H1 only (no EAD details provided since 2005). I am working on H1 (not on EAD) even thought I used AP in my last entry.
My wife entered using AP and we got her H4 approval as well for another 3 years (I may not need!). This is my fourth H1 (i.e. almost 9 yrs in H1 already).
It is my 4th EAD for my safety (backup) reasons and never used with this employer yet (and nor with another job yet). My attorney asked me not to try for H1 stamping now-a-days and just travel using AP and work on H1 as long as I am with this employer!

I guess USCIS will go by the degree first and then look if the field is related. The lawyers in this country are pretty good in converting anything to a high skills job and justify the labor shortage. For a starter an US MS qualified guy can be sponsored for an H1B for optimizing the fuel stocks (read gas station attendant).

That's correct you cannot open a service request without a receipt, this was suggested to me because I was tracking my spouse's application and they accepted my receipt number. In a way it was a service request on my name.
You can do the following, use your I-140 receipt number. They only reason they need a receipt number is to track the person with the service request.
You can request that your I-485 was filed with the following I-140 XXX receipt number. This will start some kind of tracking on your I-485 application
for which no receipt has been issued in more that 45 days.
Don't read too much in IO's response, you will get different responses from each one of them.
I am sure you will get your receipts before July 30.

I said I am 11thJune filer, but the IO kept saying there was a hold till 2 days ago. According to IO, all applications will be receipted by30thJuly. But she repeatedly suggested to check the bank for encashed checks. She said 'no encashed checks, no receipt #'...
SO if no receipt #, then how do we file at service request ?? Is there a link to file an online service request?? (I couldn't find one)

USPS won't do it for ever. But GC will surely take for ever.
I guess you already know but can't help to remind this :
USPS has a system of mail-forwarding. After leaving your old-address, if you notify USPS, USPS will continue to forward all your first class mails to your new address specified by you. You can do it Online @ usps.com... I guess they charge $1 for verifying your address from the CC address, if you do it online(which I did).
So, NO, your mails will not be lost!

I infact had quit the company since I had an offer with another big multinational and i went to india and came back using AP. no h1 stamping. in both the above situations, i have not informed uscis. so literally when i went out of US and came back, i was unemployed. luckily for me they did not ask me the question of "are you working for the same employer that sponsored ur gc"? this is in SFO airport. as long as u have a valid ap, you could get in, its just that you may get some questions. just be prepared for that. Just show them the documents only if they ask for it. but keep it in hand just for your satisfaction. To me, they dont know much abt ac21 etc (atleast not thoroughly), so we dont need to teach them anything. my only worry in your case is, that you have only 2 days before your expiry of AP. So, make sure you take the ap renewal receipt with you, that alone could just prove them that your renewal is in process. hope this helps..bon voyage...
