well here is the damage.
I cant get the old paste off the gpu as its baked on hard! I've managed to clean the heatsink of the remnants though.
Will applying a layer to the the GPU be enough? Will the remaining contact area of new paste be effective or is it FUBAR?
Rubbing alcohol (isopropyl) and qtips can't get more of the paste off? I've read about people using a razor blade before to scrape it off, or use acetone, or even a hair dryer. You might wait for someone with actual experience removing the old stubborn stuff to post a reply, I'm just repeating what I've read elsewhere.
I also see Artic Silver makes a 2 step cleaning kit http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835100010&nm_mc=OTC-Froogle&cm_mmc=OTC-Froogle-_-CPU+Thermal+Paste+/+Grease-_-Arctic+Silver-_-35100010

Then you cannot display the "highest" resolution version of the media. Either none, or a resolution crippled version (ie 480p vs 1080i).

So I got my Photoshop on Mac last year and somehow, I think I accidentally pressed something. I used to have a transparent background whenever I use it so I can see the desktop but now it's all gray and boring. How do I turn it back? I have the Translucent option checked btw. Thanks for any help that will come.

Also, what is so bad about the iOS notification system? I just hit "Close" if I don't care about a notification at that time.
My biggest problem is, ok I don't want to look at it right then. BUT I would like to be able to look at it as some point.
I've also run into where I will be typing in a field or playing a game and a notification will pop up and I'll hit close before I realize it. Then it's just GONE, that's what annoys me the most.

Can Apple really stop TJ Maxx from selling their iPads?
I thought the Authorised Reseller Programme was just that: an "Apple-certified" or "Apple-approved" reseller? Surely any reseller who doesn't have this "sign of approval" still can sell the iPad?
I don't really know the answer to that since every store which I've seen here in the UK which sells Apple products are authorised resellers.

No, again, Apple can't stop them from selling the iPad. But it does mean that the iPads TJ Maxx is getting aren't being acquired directly from Apple. It means that they are buying them from a 3rd party. All Apple COULD do is terminate the 3rd party's Apple account (meaning that the 3rd party can no longer purchase directly from Apple) if they want to (if it was a large enough sale to TJ Maxx...80 iPads probably won't matter to Apple). An "Apple approved" retailer is one that has been authorized by Apple to buy Apple products directly from Apple, and thereby get all of the advertising perks, merchandising, etc from Apple.

There are no print ads. Thus its extremely difficult to accuse someone of bait and switch. Sites like macrumors and slickdeals are doing all of TJ Maxx's advertising for them. Brilliant.
Yes some marketing guy at TJ gets a few coworkers to go to the local Apple store (Or maybe Walmart) and they buy 100 iPads and sell them at a $10,000 loss. They get more advertizing that way them paying $10K to an ad company. This gimmick is dirt cheap, cheaper then just one newspaper ad.

I am assuming this is a cluster? I seriously doubt that would be enough space for every person to access their iTunes content via the cloud. The only conceivable way is if you were limited to the amount of space (like allocated into your 20GB default mobileme account). That would be weak.The original post doesn't say it will be used for customers to store their own files, only for Apple to store all the video content on the iTunes store. Each video file is only stored once so 12PB is probably more than enough for all the videos they currently have (you'd have to be a pretty lazy data architect not to account for growth in the original plan).
I'm sure they already have a large enough storage system for cloud storage/iDisk, or will be planning to expand or replace one soon.

Man! I've got a lot to learn :o Thanks for sharing those figures. The frustrating thing is the pricing spectrum for design is so wide, it's hard for a beginner to get a decent idea of what to charge. I guess I have to look at as many pricing sources as possible and and try to distill some figures? I have the "Graphic Artist Guild" handbook, but those prices are through the roof. I imagine they're for seasoned professionals working for major clients. Thanks again!
