Let's get some stats on how many employment-based green card applicants are from the state of California. Perhaps they are printed on a DOS, USCIS web site or report. I am sure the number is high (San Jose etc.)

USCIS had issued a Direct Filing Update which stated that if the application was filed after July 30, it would have to be filed at the center which has jurisdiction over the state the applicant lives in, which in your case is Massachusetts.
USCIS has been transfering a lot of applications between the various service centers lately due to the July fiasco. Based on reports from the Ombudsman, USCIS is trying to avoid any unnecessary rejections, and take a more 'customer service' based approach, so hopefully you will be ok, and they'll just transfer the case to the appropriate service center.
I'm not a lawyer by any means, so please use this advice at your own discretion.

i am wondering do you have LUd for i-485 or i-131 or i-140 ?
it was for my EAD application (I already completed the finger printing ..it took 2 minutes but I had to drive a total of 50 miles ..waste of time and gas ..my last finger printing was 4 months ago ..I get the feeling that they send us for FP just to keep the folks at the FP office busy on a saturday !!) ..I saw the date change twice ..but no new message (last wed and friday) ..maybe they did not want to work before the long weekend.

As it is mentioned in the RFE, I have to reply with the sealed envlope and copy of letter and the yellow paper attached. I did not receive any yellow paper along with the mail. Did any one received like this ?
The gold coversheet is sent to lawyer, you only get a copy of the RFE letter. You can still respond to RFE without this letter just make sure you provide all the details (Receipt number, Alien number, RFE refernce, copy of RFE) when responding to this RFE.

Hi!
I was wondering if you guys know any link on Dept on labor (or uscis.gov) that says that employer is responsible for all the legal(lawyer) fees. I work for a government firm and they only pay H1b fees that they are supposed to pay to USCIS. At the same time, they force me to hire a lawyer (I cannot file it myself) and they want me to pay for the lawyer.
I was wondering if you know of any law that I can show them and ask them to pay for the same.

$1.5 Billion in income taxes, is the amount the 64,000 new H1bs pay every year and I assume a similar or larger sales tax.
I'm not even thinking of the remaining 500,000+ people in the immigration queue

Thank you for the response, the course is very expensive and I dont have that much money. Its an MBA course and I am in software field there wont be any justifiable CPT I guess..Also, there was an RFE generated during H-1 processing asking for my status in between times. I sent I-20 to the INS and then only my H1 was approved.
What kind of tough questions you think they can ask?? I am very new to all these and do not have much knowlege but only thing i did is try to maintain status legally..is there anything wrong that I did??
if you abandon the course..then the VO will know that to maintain status only you have enrolled into the course..then your case may be denied ...Try to talk to your HOD and explain your situation..He/She will guide you ....Try to consult lawyers like murthy or rajiv khanna or try to PM admins if our free lawyer services can help you.

when someone working in DC, VA, MD etc says that they will try to make it to the rally because it is on a working day. Come on, give us a break because multiple people are flying from the west coast.
Move your a$$ and get to the rally. You have made enough ruses about not being able to attend the rally.
It makes no sense for you to be the beneficiary of someone else's sweat(in getting legislation passed).

I had my diploma in Mechanical engineering (3 - Years) and B.E. in mechanical engineering. My job requirements were Bachelor's Degree plus five years experience. I don�t remember evaluations agency name now but I will get that for you tomorrow.

Nothing to worry. We will be fine. I also sent my wife's 485 application on july 31, 2008 ( reached to NSC on Aug 1, 2008) .Check was deposited and cleared yesterday.

you can also put links on an image in dreamweaver with image maps.
it's very easy. Just bring the image (or images if you have cut it up) into dreamweaver. Click on the image and in your Properties Pannel you will notice a bunch of options for drawing. Choose the square or the circle or whatever shape you want to make and just draw ontop of your image. This will be an active Hyperlink and will not ad and colours or outlines to your pic.
