I was informed that without I-94 card she cannot be added to my insrurance.
Can anyone suggest me some good insurance I can take online/india for this kind of situation...???

I have never seen anyone asking for an I-94 card to get your wife added to your insurance.If you are an employee going through employers insurance then they have to add you and your family to the insurance coverage without any discrimination . That is as far as I know . Maybe I could be wrong but I am pretty sure about it. You can take her insurance without she being here . I recently changed my coverage this month for myself and my family and its start date was the same day I submitted the forms and not the 1st of next month or something like that.

I don't remember the exact implementation, but you have to read it into a structure and type cast to a char pointer (if I am not mistaken).

What are the implications if for some wierd reason your I-485 gets denied and you dont have an H1-B to fall back upon?
Say you have an H1-B which is extended for 3 yrs( based on approved I-140) from now till 2011, in the year 2011 your I-485 file is opned and its not approved for some reason so will you get another 3 yr extension for H1-B ie till year 2014?

Eligible for 3 years if I140 is approved and you can't file I485 because of retrogression. But you said , you had already filed I485. I doubt you are eligible for 3 year extension.

If you have a valid H1 Visa, your wife can enter on H4. Regarding adding your wife's name to your 485 case, I am not sure, but I believe you have to wait until your PD becomes current....

You don't add your wife's name to your I-485. She sends her own I-485. Of course, she can only send it in a month when your PD is Current. She should enter in the US on H4, for which you will need to keep your H1 valid at least until the time of her entry.

I moved to a different state with pending 485, however i paper filed AR-11.
My 485 apps had soft luds within couple of days.
Filed for ead and ap renewal from new address and got it at new address, i havent faced any issues with change of address.
I am planning to move to different residence. My 485 application is currently pending.
Has anyone successfully filed change of address form? and have their EAD or other documents deliever to their new address correctly. Reason I am asking my friend changed his residence while his 485 pending and all his document would still come to my address (his old address). He made numerous request to USCIS and files for AR11 etc. His all documents EAD.. even Green card also came back to my address(His old adress). At least he was lucky that I was still staying over there.
Any thoughts much appreciated.

I guess people are willing to shell out few extra hundreds as long as it expedites the process. Anyway thousands are being spent on attorney's instead if all this money goes to USCIS, atelast things gets done faster. Ofcourse the string attached to this is that the money should be spent for improving process rather than fattening the pockets of few. I am also told that most of the fee money goes towards the Border security ( May be taking money from legal applicants to curb illegals)

Clearly, legal, skilled immigrants from countires like India, China, Mexico and Phillipines are already facing 5-7 years backlogs and this bill, by reducing quotes from 140K to only 90K, is going to make this problem worse!!! To relieve this problem, they should've expanded quotas (atlteast temporarily), made soft countrycaps, and exempted dependents, but they are going in the totally opposite direction.
I read the bill posted for IV, and on page 259 it says for first 5 years after enactment, level of EB immigrants will be at 2005 levels (which was 246K)
90K will for for pending EB applicants, while ATLEAST 10K will for exceptional aliens in nonimmigrant status under section 101(a)(15)(Y). This means that these "exceptional aliens" will have a new quota of 246K-90K= 156K a year, while the qouta for existing EB immigrants will be reduced by 50K, thereby accentuating the horrific backlog that already

Question is, who are these "exceptional aliens" under section 101(a)(15)(Y)??

Guys,
If one IV member moves from State A to B, what would be the process of transferring membership to state chapter?
Will it merely be a deleting datbase record from one state and adding it to another state? Or would it be again filling up survey to new state chapter..?
