Folks,
To celebrate or not to celebrate is the question. I received this email from my attorney's office:
Congratulations! You and your wife are now Legal Permanent Residents of the United States! It has been confirmed this afternoon your I-485 applications were approved this week and your green cards have been ordered.
However, my online status did not change. My question is : Has USCIS stopped updating online status ? or Is this a mistake on my attorney's side ?
Can I do anything in the next 3 days to confirm what happened to my case ? Suggestions appreciated.
It is going to be a long long long weekend for us.

Very interesting flower, great colors and shapes. I don't have a suggestion for the DOF problem, but I think this is a case where the flower is so unique I'm not thinking of the technicalities very much. I like the second picture, but it'd be great to pair it with an "overview" shot to understand how the whole flower/plant looks.

We gave for fingerprints 5 days back but our LUD on I-485 is not yet updated. Is this common?
I-485 receipts from NSC.
Most of my friends LUD is updated within 2 days of giving finger prints.
Please post your experiences.
Be patient. That's OK. One more thing, do you have a login on USCIS site and a portofolio of your cases. If you login and see your portofilio, you may see a LUD on I-485. But when you expand the message, there won't be any update.

How can you use I-140 from Company A and 485 from Company B. I think you can't do it.
But I think you can use AC21 with Company B as 180 days has crossed after filing 485 and your I-140 is pending. This is very risky.
I would suggest you to consult an Attorney before taking any decision.
485 is not based on any company....

I got 485 Card production order and welcome notice email yesterday . I am assuming that means I got PR . my company has filed for H1 -B extension last week itself . what will happen to that extension , do we need to revoke/withdraw that petition ?

Since you are a permanent resident (green card holder) now, H1-B petition must be denied. But, it should not matter.

Thanks, Sanju. I was wondering where to ask for assurance; looks like you have found a place. I too need some help: last time my fingerprint check took almost 8 months (!) and I gave one set of them again today. Can somebody assure me that they will comeback before the dates become U again. We just need someone to give us some assurance that we will all be fine and live to see the light of the day on Tuesday even if DoS sends out a revised Visa Bulletin. It happened to me as well, Last year my denied my Wife AP the Reson was that her 485 is approved, we send them the letter that its not the case and it was a mistake.....In the end we had to re- apply. I wonder if they can Print it on the same day in case of an emergency, why can't they give you the one which is already approved....weired people ...weired USCIS...

Online case status can be confusing and sometimes incorrect. Your employer has paid for premium processing, which entitles them to contact USCIS through dedicated premium processing channels. They respond very quickly on these channels. Urge your employer to contact them, if there are any doubts about the status.

My perm was applied in Apr audited and finally heard that my perm denied in July 2010.
Reason - travel language in the notice of filing but not on form 9089.
Attorney will be filing for an appeal. Do you think its a good option ? Also how long would it take to receive an answer?
As luck would have it , my H1-b 6 yrs expires in Nov -2010. However my company did apply for an extension to Oct 2011 based on my Perm. Now that my perm has been denied is that extension still valid?

a) Is there E- renewals? What about photographs for such renewals?
b) What documents are required for renewing?

I just entered US on my AP. Old one (stamped one) was valid till May 08 09 and I had a renewed AP. The IO asked for both old and new AP. I had only the new one. He said I am supposed to carry both. Then he issued me a stamp valid till dec 30 09 and said am supposed to carry the stamped AP paper along with the stamp all the time. Then I aksed about the expiry validity. He said I have to have a new AP after the AP expiry date on AP not on the passport.

Unless you need to travel immediately, I551 stamp is not important. I am assuming she only declined to stamp the I-551 but the GC was approved.
These days you get the card in 30-60 days from approval. sometimes even within the week so you dont need the stamp. The actual GC card is the I-551 document you need. The stamp let you travel without the card in the days it took around a year for the card to arrive.
Congratulations and get the passport renewed, you would need the current passport for travel anyways.

Since lot of baby boomers are set to retire, any thing can happen.
Someday they (means all of the anti - immgt minds, lou doggs, ron hiras etc) have to admit the reality that this country needs skilled workers and justice is delayed for employment based immgiration
I know the fact for some years that there are so many IT consulting jobs begging to be filled, but never. Because there is a restriction that only citizens are allowed to apply for those. Where i live in US, i see boeing and Northrup Grummen ads for years, same repeating and begging for "citizens" to apply but never gets applicants.
I bet they won't let a VB programmer in!!!

It takes about 1 to 2 weeks for the information from FBI to be tied to your case. So when your SR was raised, the inormation might not have been available yet.
So, if you do not get greened by end of this month, raise another SR request or take an Infopass.
