I would definetly buy one given that it'll be released - today, tomorrow or in 10 years time - my current mobile, a LG, makes me a sad being - anything with decent menus and nifty design might even invoke some hidden love for phone capable gadgets (other gadgets on the other hand is already giving my economy more than enough problems - but I love it and wouldn't do it in any other way)

On the one hand he is right.
I work in IT, and the iPad to me is just a novelty toy.
I have one an use it for just 2 things(reading the newspaper and watching movies on the train to my work). And for just those 2 things it is rather expensive.
On the other hand the thing I liked the most about OS X, is that is able to be used hardcore-IT people(thanks to being a UNIX) and complete noobs. And this is something I miss in the iPad(for the iPhone I don't care, i have an SSH-app in case of emergency when I'm not near a computer and that's it.
Making couchbrowsers(cause thats what iPads are mostly used for) for non-tech people is good.
But I just hope they still care about tech-savy people in OS X.

With the Xserve getting canned, it's likely that Apple will shift Lion server hard towards SOHO needs and further away from the needs of larger enterprise environments.

I think the RFID devices have to be basically be touching to actually do anything, I don't think walking through turn style would pick it up. I guess this level of sensitivity is adjustable, but my AMEX card has to actually touch and remain on the reader for few seconds to actually read the card.

Imagine if all smartphones had either a multi-user selector, or at the least a "child" mode that was easy to turn on.
I agree, a kiosk mode could be helpful. There is an app that will do this for jailbroken phones but it is not practical for the average user.
I also think that the ability to password protect photo albums should be included as a feature..

I'm sorry for everyone with a PowerPC Mac, but the sooner the PowerPC is a distant memory, the better for the platform.
I'll agree with that if you're willing to cover the bill on a new Intel Mac of my choosing for me. ;)

I have noticed that a lot of the new folders (including myself) are folding a lot of points for the team, great to see :)

Yes, T-Mobile uses 2100 Mhz, which iPhone supports, but they also use 1700 Mhz, which no iPhone yet supports. You'd need both to use T-Mobile's 3G network.
It would be much easier to add the 1700 Mhz band than to create a CDMA iPhone, though I think both are likely.
Hopefully Verizon accepts fate and just switches to GSM like Bell and Telus (former CDMA stalwarts) did up here in Canada.
Mind you, Rogers, Fido, Bell, Telus and Virgin all sell the iPhone - all for the same price and same monthly fees. So competition isn't always better.

Nonsense. Apple is selling a lot of computers right now because Jobs Osbourned the entire PowerPC range just over a year ago by announcing the switch to Intel. For each model of Mac, sales were artificially low before the Intel version was launched, and artificially higher after.
Additionally, people are happer buying Macs if they know they can switch back to Windows if it doesn't work out. One of the major barriers to owning a Mac has been removed by the Intel switch (whatever my misgivings on the subject.)
It's simply ridiculous to argue that the ads have helped sales. Sales would be much higher now than they would have been six months ago even if Apple had stopped advertising completely. The question is whether they would be even higher if they weren't insulting their target audience. The answer, of course, is yes.

I bought it in a 4 pack (I think) from Amazon a while back for scratches on my picture frame. The #2 did not tarnish around the outside of the scratch. But buyer beware, lol.... It worked for me.:D

So Counsumerreports publishes that they can't recommend the iPhone 4 due to antenna. Then they later realized that they were dumb asses and the iPhone antenna issue is a non-issue. Now they can't just change their mind, that would make them look like an idiot, so they stayed stubborn saying the iPhone 4 had an antenna issue, because they were too stubborn to admit they were wrong.
Now the iPad is out they are trying to prove to the media that they are not being biased against apple.

Sd card slot and an 8 hour battery life (videos) will have me ditching this iPad2 quicker than the flash. :D intended.
