Whether she eats 300 or 300,000 calories will have no affect on that. Current food production is more than enough to meet world needs, but for numerous reasons, produced food is often used for applications other than human consumption.
Emphasis mine. Let's put corn ethanol for vehicle fuel and soy biodiesel aside for a minute. You may be shocked when you find out how much corn and other food is given to livestock to bulk them up for human consumption as meat. Am i the only person who is relieved that the iPhone 5 and iPad 3 aren't coming out anytime soon? I feel like i've lucked out buying an iPhone that isn't revised in a year of me buying it! I would be devastated if an iPad 3 came out in september, i don't like being constantly last generation. Plus the IP4 and iPad2 are pretty great as they are
lol If you think about what you just said, there really shouldn't be a reason to dislike being "last generation" if you are happy with how they are now. It's a stigma that almost everyone has when it comes to not having the newest thing but honestly people should realize that, if they think what they have is good already, something new being released doesn't actually lessen the quality of what you already had. But with that being said, getting an older one that is so close to the release of the next one is a bit more understandable because of the proximity, but regardless, if you're happy with it then it's good

Really good to see the update (finally)... but I am disappointed they didn't bring the 24" back :(
The 27" is too big, and the resolution on the 21.5 is laughable for an upgrade of this magnitude.
Still, quad core across the range is nice.
The biggest thing with the 27 is the yellow hue. Fonts. Glossy. And I like to change out my display and own the latest and greatest quite often, say every two years, or every year due to work at home.
Solution for me was I got a HP brightview 25.5. It is a MVA panel not quite as good viewing angles as the imac 27 IPS but with better black levels, deeper black levels, whiter whites, no yellow hue to speak of. Much better for graphical design work. Brightview technology has me hooked. All the benefits of a glossy and some of the benefits of a matte, less glare than the imac 27.
I have my 21.5 as a extra display and use the 25.5 as my main display in dual mode. Fantastic setup.

If this patent is anything close to reality, Apple may be prepping something much bigger than an iPod, something closer to a full-featured OS X tablet computer. You'll be running a full-featured version of iTunes, not just the simplified UI of the iPod:

I find the ip4 to be way too heavy and awkward to hold. I like this design, it allows weight to be shaved off and perhaps (!) be more ergonomically friendly.
I agree that the back should be made extra study and NOT in chrome. I see them using the same type of backing as the ipads...
One more thing that the tapered back will enable is ease of use while its on a desk because the viewing angle will be nicer. On the other hand, it would make it more awkward in landscape mode and for playing game because one side would be thicker than the other. Perhaps its easy to get used to? time will tell!

Yet that doesn't change the fact that the BSOD still exists in XP.
The code for kernel panics exists in MacOS too, from my experience sometimes the OS even croaks before it can even draw the cool graphical error screen out. At least Windows XP has a fully functional BSOD :rolleyes:

I really don't care, as long as iOS 5 beta 1 gets here soon. If we really have to wait for June well that sucks, but whatever.
The problem I have with this delay is that 2 other phones on my account are due for upgrade, and both of those people EXPECT a new iPhone in June. If I tell them more like October/November, they won't be happy, and will end up getting the iPhone 4 instead.
I sure Apple cares more about selling iPhone 5s this year than they do clearing out old inventory, so this delay is pretty poor management on their part.

I've seen the blue screen on XP. It's funny because I've been told by Windows users that it doesn't exist in XP, yet I witnessed it two weeks ago when a colleague of mine was trying to do something with Adobe Acrobat. The program just spazzed and the blue screen came up.
Entirely possible, but not necessarily a problem with XP. The operating system will immediately blue screen if an application attempts to write into an illegal memory area, which I've seem Acrobat do, and a Java application that used a native dll. I believe it's a security feature built into newer processors.

The MS tactic will probably be the same as the one they used to defeat IBM, Apple and Palm; just keep throwing money at it, make gradual improvements until the competition makes a huge gaff and falls flat on it's face. They don't actually win; everyone else just kind of ... loses.
They've come from way behind before (remember when Palm had 90% of the PDA market) and ended up on top, but rarely on their own merits. Apple just has to keep up the marketing and keep adding value to the brand, and that should be enough to keep them ahead.

Cant see this working if its true. Apple are well known for their pisstake prices when it comes to displays. You'd have to be an idiot to buy one when you can get much better displays at much lower prices elsewhere.
If they continue the '10000 x cost' method, it'll fall flat on its face when you can pick up a pretty decent 42" HD TV for in the $600 - $900 range.
But, I would also guess AppleTV will be built in, so they will use that 'magical, one remote control' argument.
Finally, theres the technical problems. They would need to include analogue tuners, in addition to DVB-T and DVB-T2 (which is in short supply) in order to get digital tv in the UK and AU as analogue is already over half way through being removed.
Bottom line: Not gunnu happen OR will be a really piss poor 1st revision.
If they continue the '10000 x cost' method, it'll fall flat on its face when you can pick up a pretty decent 42" HD TV for in the $600 - $900 range.

One of the things I used to hate about Windows were those programs that used their own butt-ugly skins. Seems that Lion is moving in that direction as well.

3. A scalper bought a huge portion of the tickets to resell. Apple does not let you transfer tickets. You must check-in at the registration desk with government issued ID (4th year attending).
Another big reason is Google had pre-announced Google I/O with pre-registration active for over a week. This is important if you need to work out schedules at work and such. With Apple, you had 1day to work that out. For Google I/O, you had over a week to decide if the schedule worked for you.
