one bit of good news -- the "older" standard 15" MBP refurbs are now only $1449!
Nice find - that's quite a steal :)

Which makes it even MORE odd that it's enabled by default in MacTels, which don't run Classic.
Hmm. I'm running a 17" MacBook Pro with 10.4.8 and when I checked under both Ethernet and Airport Appletalk was not enabled. On this machine I have never set it one way or the other.

Great! Commoditize an art form and degrade it even further.
It's bad enough we've already hacked music apart by turning it digital, now we're treating it like soda pop. Everything is a bargain bin price war.
With the exception of very few bands and solo artist, this has been the case anyway. I think we would be kidding ourselves if we don't think the music industry has done this already. Pop seems to rule the airwaves and the tv so why should this be any different. Heck, you can't tell me hearing a song that came out less then a year ago being played on in a car commercial. Come on, it has already been commercialized.

Mac OS and iOS is different things, it seems Apple is loosing that idea, where's the unification OS? Can you imagine how ugly and mess it's going to work with apps each one with different looks and feels, at least we wll get fullscreen single apps, or maybe not, well, more and more Ubuntu seems a better OS

Watch, it probably really means it instantly voids the MS support part of the Vista purchase for that license.
Would be just peachy that Apple offers zero support for running Vista on a Mac, and MS does the same for those doing it via virtualization.
Probably forsee a support headache coming down the path. :p

Another huge update... Apple should test their updates better. These frequent updates are getting really annoying to me and my friends.

If you don't have an iPhone... you may have LTE :D
If you don't have the only device that supports LTE, the Thunderbolt, you don't have LTE. :D
Oh, also, if you have a device that makes it through a day you definitely don't have LTE. :D

Well, I guess these kinds of things are preferential. Perhaps I'm more used to Micro$oft Office toolbars.
Anyhow, I find myself using Pages more often. I'll just tell my boss to buy a Mac Mini if he wants to read my documents. :D
If Apple does come out with a spreadsheet, it better be more usable than what one can get currently on Pages. One major omission is that one cannot create a graph directly from a table (you have to 'cut and paste').
I'm with KookAid, I find that the Inspector is far more time consuming than a well laid out Icon Bar with drop boxes. Maybe it's because I've been using Microsoft Office forever. But I have given Pages a serious try and I find that I really like it, except for it's lacking AutoCorrection and Inspector.

AAPL will recover, but perhaps not soon. The markets are in a state of confusion right now (I can imagine that this week was one roller coaster for day traders!), but Apple is a solid company with solid earnings, solid growth forecasts, and a solid roadmap for the near future.
I mean, it's not as if Apple is taking on suspect mortgages...:p
Huffy, of course, is manufactured in China by the Russell Corporation. :)
It is true, if your Apple stock has declined, selling is probably the worst thing you can do. If you thought it was worth $169, then it is definitely worth $130 to you. Nothing has really changed since it dropped from its high.

let us know how it goes
I've started with <./fah6 -bigadv -smp 16 -local> after getting rid of the unit it was working on, it is finally using all 16 cores now, had only been using 8. It doesn't look like it's doing anything more strenuous.

Can you name a few more? I have only seen Sony support AAC on their PMP devices.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Audio_Coding#Hardware
I don't understand why people still call AAC a "proprietary Apple format" in 2011. It's not even from Apple.
Screenshots in Mac OS X are saved as 32-bit PNGs, yet I've never heard anyone call PNG an "Apple format".

If there were so many problems with the white iPhone 4, how come Stephen Fry has had one (and used it) from the beginning?
Lol Stephen Fry... He's a techno geek, I've seen him queue up on iPad's day of launch, he's also the most educated and formal man I've ever come across.

Are people firing up their lawyers because Apple does not update their iPhone 3G that came with iOS 3 when they bought it in june 2010 ? Doesn't the licence flyer in the box say Apple will supply the current iOS version +1 ?
What??
