My take on this is that in order for the iPOD Classic to survive, it needs the larger HDs now available, IOS & a touch screen. Then it would be essentially a tiny iPAD + a large capacity iPOD and I think some people not wanting to carry around such a large device as the iPAD might like that.
Otherwise, if sales are sluggish, they'll have no choice but to euthanize it. Pity, because it's still the only Apple device that many people can fit their ENTIRE music collection on. My iPhone certainly doesn't and doesn't for many people.

Usually such a document could consist of one single sentence: "Somebody else does it for less money."
All I'm proposing is that the government get the DETAILS. Why is it $X over there buy $Y here? Every....single....detail: wages, benefits, unions, taxes, land fees, government kickbacks/breaks/incentives, transportation from there to here, cheap import tax, etc. This document HAS to exist at the company because the CEO and everyone below him/her is going to read the doc regarding all the costs/savings...and how it compares to the USA. So please make it public. No shame. No crime. The the public know about the pros/cons of working in the US so we, as a people, can adjust our laws/policies to best ensure we have a successful economy.
When these documents pile up, the US gov't can say "hmmmm...a lot of companies choose to build in ____ because their tax rate is 5% while ours is 35%"...and then the US can START to become a bit more competitive.
Right now companies just do as they please (which is the basis of Capitalism) but I think ALL companies would love to TRY to keep manufacturing in the USA IF it's feesible...it's great PR (especially these days and the next 30+ years). Trust me, there are plenty of folks in the US (or robots) that would manufacture things. It's probably not a highly skilled job (define highly skilled) for every single manufacturing process...plenty of 15-25 year olds out there ready to earn a buck while paying for school and/or their ultimate profession.

AppleInsider confirms 4 and 8 GB metal-clad, multi-colored iPod nanos. They had previously confirmed the 23" Merom iMac. Now we can assume both of those will happen. The question is: what will happen with the full-size iPod. My prediction: absolutely nothing.

You know, i dont think apple, motorola, or IBM cares. We will, regardless almost, buy macs next time. A mac is a mac, and a mac user, never goes to a pc. They may use one in preference to a mac, but, they still look at the mac market and hope for a time when they ca move back. I did. 4 years ago i couldnt afford a mac. Now i can, guess which company has an order for two of their professional machines????
Apple doesnt care because of this.
Motorola doesnt care because they make more money elsewhere
IBM doesnt care because they sell pcs and loads of other stuff for computers so they dont need to depend on anyone.
We are 5% of people with computers. If i had to make a hardware marketing decision, which group do you think i want to please?????

I burn through a LOT of ammo too. About 5 minutes into a mission I usually am already down to like 50 assault rifle bullets and that ****** covenant pistol. Although now that im on my second go round with the single player if you look around, which I am doing a lot more of, there are a lot of simi hidden chaches of weapons. I didnt notice a lot of them the first time through as they blend into the surrounding pretty well.

Who cares about Flash? Most of the time it's used, it's because the web designers are too dumb or lazy to get the page right without it, because they haven't kept out with what a modern browser is capable of.

I would really like to see what the difference in size between the new nanos and old nanos is. if it really is 52% smaller, which doesn't look it from the picture, I will definitely consider picking one up. has anyone seen any side by side pictures of the new and old nano?

I like the hardware buttons on the classic because I can press them through my pocket when I am working. When I gave my classic to my sister and used my touch while I was working, it was a pain to have to pull it out of my pocket to change the song or play/pause. I liked the easy volume change buttons on the touch though. But still the touch buttons are too close together and half the tie I restart the song instead of pausing it.

@OP, this is very sad. I have been with the facebook app forever. Infact I use it more often than my PC! I hope I get push notifications though...it's a shame. The fb app was the first one I got and it's without a doubt my most used app next to safari if you can consider safari an app.

But this will probably not help since Apple will not admit their mistake. It should be up to the user to switch flash on/off if some "bad user experience" will occur. I still hope that Apple supports flash soon, they can have "off" as default.

IIRC, it's a feature, not a flaw.
I actually love this feature, because text messages tend to be more important than other notifications, so if I'm busy and I feel a single-vibrate I know not to worry about it and can look later, wheras if it's a double vibrate I'll look a lot sooner.
