This is a very genuine concern. I being the only son have worries on the same lines too. Although my parents are healthy and doing fine at this time but I get really get tensed to fathom what is there down the line in another 5 years or so. Bringing them here is not an option, medical insurance will not cover pre-existing condition neither is there any visa other than B2. Two options come to my mind:
1) I take up job which requires lot of travel, back-and-forth to India.
2) I move for good to India.
3) Look for a full-time nurse to be available to take care of them and I travel to India once in every 3 months, may be just for a week or so each time.
All three options put a dent in your life. But I guess the golden period of life is over, remaining period of life will go raising your kids, looking after your parents. Sometimes I like the American culture a lot; you get to enjoy all life long!

Does anyone know what is the official term for your legal status if you are on EAD and no longer on H-1? I am trying to fill up an online form for opening an IRA and it asks whether I am
a) Citizen of US or Permanent Resident or
b) Citizen of Another Country and specifically, under what status (but only lists B, H, etc as valid visas - there is not EAD visa category!)
Of course, I am not a Permanent Resident yet but I don't believe I qualify under H visa anymore either since my H1 is not valid any longer.

My age was 20 years and 5 days as on 06/24/2002. I am currently working in USA on H1B visa. So can I apply for Green card with change of status with my parent's I-130 with Child Status Protection Act?

I dont know about you but I certainly don't enjoy the daily grind of "When will I get GC?", BTW Raghunathrao was one of the bravest Maratha warriors of his time, albeit misguided :(

I filed my i 140 and i 485 on Dec 23rd 2003 under EB3 category. I think my labor was filed under EB3 category. My Priority date is Mid August 2003. After 180 days of filing (around Nov 2004) I left my sponsoring company and joined another company with similar Job responsibility (to avail AC21), But didn't get my H1b transferred to new company. My new job require Master degree and 5 years of experience. I have acquired my master degree before joining my new company. I got married recently and Ofcourse I can't file for my wife's i 485 since I am from India and visa numbers are not available.
Can I get my H1Bvisa transferred to new employer if he is willing to sponsor?

Yes, it won't be a rejection or a denial either...just a simple RFE. Since both the names on the marriage certificate are different from the applicant (you) and the beneficiary (your wife), USCIS should be able to deduce that it's a mistake.

Anything like this calls for "accommodating beneficiary" and its illegal when it comes to Immigration. Both sponsoring employer and beneficiary will be in problem. This is well discussed before and at least my Attorney did not recommend.
Ask your company to demote you to developer position once u get ur green card. GC is for a future job position.

I took the gif into fireworks, looked at in the 4 by preview mode, then took it down to 32 colors... that makes it 16k .

it is a matter of how good do you want it to look vs. small file size.... anything else will take much more time (export individual frames, then import into FW, then optimize/export, then paste into layers, then export as animated gif...

I was on H-1 B status with my former employer then I changed jobs using AC 21 and I am currently working on EAD with my new employer. I didn't transfer my H-1b from former employer to new employer since I have EAD. I still have H-1b visa stamp on my passport that will not expire until end of 2010. I am planning to go home to visit my family during the summer for 2 weeks. my question is : do i need to apply for travel document to be able to come back or can I just use the H-1B stamp on my passport even tough I am not with my green card sponsoring employer anymore??

You can enter with previous company H1 visa, only if you are maitaining that status (H1) with new company. As you are currenty working on EAD with other emplyer, the previous H1B visa has no use. You need AP to enter, as you are in pure AOS.
However, you can enter in H1B visa, only if you are going to work for the previous comapany upon arrival to USA (provided thay have not cancelled the H1, and still they have job offer to you upon arrival). If you do so, your 485 will get abonded, as you travelled without parloe when you are in AOS. If you want to protect 485, you must get AP before leaving. H1B visa will be usefull, only if you maintain H1 status just before leaving US and resumes H1 after arrival.

Set up your own company LLC. and ask them to sign corp-corp or 1099 and you be the sole owner of this company.
This way even if you dont get full time offer you can defend self employment.
W2 Contract can be a problem because of USCIS's perception of permanent job.

Few years ago I evaluated my 3-year engineering diploma from ECE to transfer some credits toward a bachelors degree at Arizona State University. It was evaluated as 10+2+1, and it clearly said that the US equivalency was High School Diploma with One Year of Undergraduate study. So it was not even equivalent to an Associates degree. However, I never had a H-1B visa and neither I work in IT, so I never had to run it through USCIS.
