I've been trying to load a pwnagetool cooked version of the iPad 4.3 GM, but whenever I try to actually load the firmware via itunes I get an error 1 that pops up as soon as the white apple logo appears on the iPad. This is both in recovery mode and DFU mode. I've tried this with both windows and mac version of the program with no success. Can anyone shed any light? I also tried pwn'd dfu mode with iREB and get the same result.

What program is that? And yes, I'm also noticing better (i.e. less accelerated) mouse movement in Lion (using Magic Mouse).

Well the cursor is not as fast as in Windows, but it's managable.
It means that the cursor movement is not linear to the mouse movement. Google it and you will see that it's a huge issue for people that want to game on their Macs, especially for Windows switchers that are not used to it. The worst part is that there is no setting in OS X to remove it.
Here are two images that illustrate it (from a 3rd party software that removes the acceleration)

I am seriously considering camping out as I REALLY want one as soon as possible... Has anyone been at this location for a launch before? Is it pretty popular? I was hoping that maybe it wasn't as popular of an Apple store and that the lines would be shorter... that and I live in Oakland about 5 minutes away!

Lau, you need QuickTime 7 to view H.264 content.
Depending on the type of content, change your codec to something like Sorenson Video 3 you'll take a size hit, but it should work fine.

There's no practical reason behind letting the battery completely die and then charging it to 100% like what you described. Lithium ion battery technology has progressed a lot since the times when that was helpful. Also, confirming what previous posters have said, iPhone 4 will shut off the power that flows into the battery when it's fully charged. The iPhone will then run off the charger's power until you unplug it. And turning it on and off completely won't harm the phone, although there's not much advantage to doing so unless you are low on battery and you need it later on.

No pink on the 23" I've been using for two months now.
Some residual ghosting with high contrast images that don't move, and a 2 inch band of slight discolouration down the left side. I do design and colour matters but for proofing I deal with a broadcast monitor for video or the printery for paper based.
I bought Applecare with my G5 and screen. Figure I'll test for six months and then return it if the problem becomes an obstacle to work.

I did what parapup suggested.
I went with OWC with their data doubler combo which was the 128SSD (115 usable) with the optibay for 279. I then bought the optical drive housing for 24 from max upgrades total around 310.
Its about what I wanted to spend and hopefully I'll only use the HD for data storage.
Stupid question, will the OSX install disc boot from the external drive or do I need to replace my main HD, then install osx, then replace the optical drive?
also, time machine will have no trouble right?

Recently I've been having major problems with my Airport (PowerBook G4) -- a lot of stalls and stops when opening even the most basic webpages, can't download new software (although I did manage to download the latest airport update) -- it's almost as if I'm on dial-up. It's always run a bit slow, but lately it's just been unacceptable. I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with my provider. Does anyone here have any idea why this is happening?
My airport sucks, too. I noticed that when I ping -f it, I get about 27% packet loss consistently (this is pinging it from the wired network). I get 0% pinging my router or any other machine in the house. I've tried different network jacks but it's always the same with the airport. My signal strength is good, and I can regularly ping things. It's just I drop packets between the airport and the main router. It sucks.

the shuffle can work as a usb thumb drive on mac and windows systems. in itunes, you need to designate how much space will be allocated for music, and how much for memory usage as a thumb drive (i.e., enable disk mode). i have a 1gb shuffle, and split it evenly to have 512mb for music and 512 for data. a windows machine may or may not need additional drivers to recognize the shuffle as a thumb drive, but other than that, you shouldn't encounter any issues. you can transfer any type of data you want - the only issue willl be whether or not the windows machine can open the mac documents. if the pages document is saved as a ".doc" item, the windows machine should have no problem. just make sure that the pc has the right software to open the mac document you want to transfer.

ha! i actually bought this cd off itunes a few months ago. could do with some more sequencing and layering. but what it is great for is sampling. i took one of the ink cartridge hitting the side of the caseing sounds and processed it into a kick drum. heres a rough mix.

Ok, so I decided to buy SL 10.6 and a new HDD, but does anyone know if I have to first setup the new drive with the original disks 10.5 that came with the uMB, or can I just use SL 10.6? I also have the application disk with iLife 09 which I know I can instal after the OS.
When Apple sells SL do they include any other drivers and software so that I can just install using the SL disk?
Trying to make sure I am clear in what I am stating only because I do not want to have to load the original discs.

still wipe and do a clean install just because it cant hurt.
the best way it to buy an external hdd and just copy and paste your data (thats what i do) or make a time machine back up
your itunes question is very easy actually copy your entire itunes folder and library to the new external drive.-> go into itunes on the MBA-> go into preferences and advanced you will see where it shows your itunes media folder location click change-> and remap it to the external driver you can only access it while plugged in but it will save a lot of space.
