This is getting WAY off topic, but...
@Cliff, my bad I remember seen the high speed crop also on the D3 series but I might be wrong. The D700 however does have a crop but also allows you to shoot your DX lens on full frame (which will vignette) but has no speed increase over the full frame mode.
There is no need to speculate when the manuals are freely available for download. The D3/D3S has additional crop options, but those options reside on the same menu I mentioned in my previous post. I replaced my D2X with a D700 a little over 2 years ago and so I am very familiar with both cameras.

2) Who paid for the coffee? :D
Eric: Wow, Steve. Thanks for buying coffee. What is this?
Steve: It's a magical blend of coffee and flavorings that I special order. It's my own idea. Taste it.
Eric: Delicious! This is your idea? No kidding? It's amazing!
Steve: I'm glad you like it.
Eric: Someone could make a lot of money selling this.
Steve: We're going to start selling it in the Apple Stores next month.
Eric: Really? What's in it?
Steve: Well, here, Eric. I can trust you. I'll write the list of the ingredients down for you.
Eric: Oh good.
Steve: And Eric?
Eric: Yes, Steve.
Steve: If Google introduces their own special coffee blend next month, I'll chop your _____ off.
Eric: Um...
Steve: I'm serious. Snip! Snip! Gone.
Eric: Uh... okay, then... um, never mind the list. Thanks anyway.

We're finally gonna get laptop docking stations again after all these years.
There is no reason why the dock connector couldn't be used for that.

oh man.. why does this thread have 3 pages???
Easy answer in a paragraph: EF lenses are designed with a full-frame camera in mind. EF-S lenses are designed with a Crop (1.6x) camera in mind.
Differences between them? Very little. Example: I used my 11-16 EF-S on my 5DII until I got a EF UWA. Drawback? I could only use the 16mm of it if I wanted to avoid a wild vignette, because the EF-S lens was designed for a CROP camera, one that would crop the outer edges of the image, thus eliminating the vignette.
If you put a hypothetical 50mm EF-S and a 50mm EF on any given camera, assuming the mounts worked, the image would be exactly the same.
however, if you put a 50mm EF (which work on both FF and crop cameras) on a FF vs a crop camera, the images will be different. On the FF you will have a true 50mm FOv, whereas on the crop camera (1.6x) you will have essentially an 80mm FOV, because the crop camera crops the image to result at 1.6x the size of a FF cameras FOV.
something like that.
So: The lenses are not any different really.

even the normal ones cant match up to the 320m esp in windows so i wonder how a 6EU underclocked/volted HD3000 would be able to catch up:mad:
All mobile CPUs have Intel HD 3000 which has 12 EUs.

Who doesn't know this Cao Cao?
More importantly, how is it relevant to the discussion at hand?
Or is he lamenting the consequences of losing Planned Parenthood and the services they provide?

It appears more of a ghost than any real product. If they wanted a bigger screen, it would have made more sense in the iPod Touch. That device would bridge the user-gap between iPad better than a larger iPhone.
As for smaller iPhone, can't really say what I'd be happy to do without for the sake of size. If calling was core, would I give up app store? browsing? movies? music? camera? Retina? battery? accessories?

So, earlier in the week I had an issue with my iPhone and it wasn't working. While my phone was out of commission, I was watching G4 TV and X-Play was on and they had a review of games on the iPhone. The game I saw was an RPG mixed with a Bejeweled game. You would be fighting a creature and in order to gain armor, health, and attacks you have to match items like Bejeweled. Swords, Hearts, Potions, things of that nature. I never wrote the name of the game down and I've clearly forgotten the name. Even googling G4 isnt helping at the moment so I figured I would come here and ask:
Does anyone know the name of this game from how I described it? Its driving me crazy ;)
also, sorry for the lengthiness of the post.

I'm just waiting for Lion to come out, then I am buying an 11" MBA. However, I would like to see a Thunderbolt port next to the power port so I won't have to stretch cables to both sides of the MBA when using a Cinema Display.
My guess is that if there is a Thunderbolt port, and the Cinema Display is updated to utilize a Thunderbolt cable, the USB cable would be unnecessary. That would be pretty slick.

4$ is a lot when considering the margins mfg are working under for the average consumer model (sub 1k). I just don't see why they don't give it away and makeup the money with extra content / hardware sales that would come as a result.

Omg with no laptop updates, I'd like to watch as Apple's laptop sales tumble. Already the Apple Store dropped their MacBook shipping days down to 3-5 days (nobody wants it).
Whatever. I'm sure they'll be hurt because you're running the world.
The updates are about 3 weeks away.

Picked up a black 3DS at a midnight launch along with Steel Diver and Ghost Recon. I didn't like Steel Diver, but i'm going to give it a second chance and try playing it at a slower pace (I was going through it too fast and getting frustrated.) Ghost Recon on the other hand I have been playing since Sunday and loving it thoroughly. I've also picked up Pilotwings & Rayman3D but have not played them yet.
For anyone looking for a 3D photo that really shows off the 3D capability of the screen I found this one of a dog growling. It really pops out of the screen, but can be a little difficult to focus on. I think you have to go a little cross-eyed to see it.

To use the photo you will need to pop the SD card out of your 3DS and connect it to your computer with a card reader. Unzip the folder that's attached to this post and put the folder inside the DCIM folder at the root of the SD card. Then just pop the SD card back in your 3DS and open the photo app, it will update its database and then appear along with any other photos you already have.

One thing I'm looking forward to on this, is its Virtual Console. With the higher rez screen it can handle the older SNES and Genesis titles.
Any games scheduled for it? What about NEC TG games?
Atari's Greatest Hits the buzz on the iPhone/Touch/iPad right now... ;)

Girls don't think it's a big deal; as long as someone isn't pushy or annoying, they don't mind if someone asks, and they find it flattering, even when they say they're not interested.
I agree. Don't be creepy, too. No heavy breathing through your teeth so it makes that creepy noise, and no Fava beans with Chianti for lunch.

Would be super if you wrote which imac you have aswell.
Wondering how much the 95w cpu does to the temp in the imac.
Would love to hear idle/load gpu temps aswell :)

I think there are some clues in the Dev build that point the way to the kind of 'cool' you allude to. While the face of the OS is the same for now, Apple has put the parts in place to either A) pop a new level of GUI goodness into 10.5 or B) allow developers to do it themselves.
The key to all this is Core Animation, which may end up being the biggest announcement at WWDC this year. Core Animation enhancements to the application Help menu, for example, indicate a totally new GUI direction. Floating 3D arrows point out features as you browse them with your mouse. The Time Machine interface similarly shows there are a lot of new and interesting GUI possibilities thanks to Core Animation.
I don't remember... Is Core Animation based on OpenGL?

A business can not choose it's customers, a business takes all the custom it can get to make a profit and pay it's employees...
A business that pick and chooses it's cutomers based upon the customers personality traits would soon go out of business.
I wonder why I often see signs like this in stores ...

Same here, the only time I had a problem was when they had to keep me under longer than expected because the idiot stand-in denist took the wrong two teeth out realised and went back for the right two!
