United is the ONLY airline that does this.
I wish they all did. Its a great way to enjoy the flight.
As for the ipod plugins, its great the only downside I see is it forces Apple into a single connector / body shape for future ipods. It would suck to release a new ipod that isn't useable on your next flight.

I'm expecting both a retail DVD release as well as a downloadable release. I'll personally be getting the DVD for easier install on multiple machines.

the "cropping" was referred to only one camera body.. just to illustrate you the whole crop size thing.
Now on the top of my quote you write to show you an exif intact photo with an EFs and EF lens..
I cannot do that as I don't have my cam but I will have it back on the weekend and I actually own a dx and FX lens (EF-s and EF) in Nikon land that overlap at 24mm, so I CAN show you..

The effect of terrorists to the West is enormously magnified by our reaction to them. How many Western deaths have been caused through terrorism in the last 15 years. 5000? Probably less than 200 in the last 5 years.
How many soldiers have been killed in subsequent wars? Over 7000 (http://icasualties.org/).
How many civilians have been killed in these wars? 100s of thousands.
And how much are we spending on this? What is the 'opportunity cost' of that lost cash - which could have been spent on health care/research/education?
I think we need to learn to ignore the 'short game' of small terrorist outrages and instead concentrate on the 'long game', which the West is undoubtably winning.
Terrorists represent a tiny proportion of radicals, that bubble to the surface of large populations of unhappy, poor and repressed people. Those underlying populations are changing though... all across North Africa and the Arab world people are mobilising to gain democracy, spurred on by the slow liberalising Western influence of open communication technologies and culture. This 'long game' political change is MUCH more significant than OBL's death.
Take away the unhappy cultures that breed terrorists won't completely remove risk - but it will make terrorism more the action of criminals, and less of a 'clash of cultures'. Smart Western political leadership would sell terrorist outrages as 'random acts of criminal radicals' not 'we must go to war with the axis of evil'.
All Obama has to do is decide whether he can afford to stop propping up the US military industrial complex.

Yeah, tell me about it (looks down at my Quad). But honestly, I think it will suck even more for Adobe, as they are really limiting themselves in the market that they can reach. Come on Adobe, it wouldn't be THAT hard to code according to Apple's Universal standards, would it?
If the CS3 situation is any example, then Adobe would have you believe the answer to that question is "YES". ;)
And yes, there still is a very large PPC user base out there which Adobe will risks alienating with this type of a decision. If they can make CS3 UB, and that's not coming out until spring of how come they can't make SoundBooth (a relatively simpler app compared to CS3) UB as well, which will be released presumably only a few months afterwards? :confused:

At this point ill believe it when I see it. I think that the only thing all these Darn rumors asy is how mcuh everyone in general would love an apple phone. done right, an iphone could easily replace most peoples phones and ipods. add into it, home on ipod, and I see a winner. but this is all speculation... ill belive it when i see it

Another circular discussion on Mac vs. PC that will never win over anyone and most certainly will never come to any rational conclusions...might as well talk about Apples and, well, Oranges.
It really is what someone here said earlier...either you get it or you don't. That has nothing to do with "bigotry" or Christian-like zealot behaviour, although I admit it does exist. (What Dell, IBM, Gateway and all the rest of them wouldn't GIVE to have such brand loyalty, by the way!) Nor does it have to do with PC's "sucking" and Macs "being better" and all the rest.
The Apple brand of products simply "speak" to a part of us who are Mac users. Nothing less, nothing more. We're appreciators of fine design, ergonomics, cutting edge thinking, and the romance of the history of Apple. If there is a part of you that goes to a museum and sees a piece of art that "touches" you in some way, that's the part that is touched by this company. It really is almost unexplainable...and by the statement "you either get it or you don't", it really is meant in the most kindest manner...don't read it as "You're a PeeCee idiot and you just don't understand..." (although out of sheer frustration for always having to feel we have to, or even NEED to, defend ourselves, I can understand such vitrol statements coming from some of our brothers and sisters) the Apple "experience" really does just "fit" in with a part of our being.
And that experience is something you "get" or you "don't". No more, no less... you're not "better" than us, and neither are we "better" than you. And that, my dear PC friend, is the hardest thing to explain of all.:)

Hmm, this could work in Apple's favour if, for example, the unthinkable happened and CS3 was released as Intel-only. It'd force a lot of pro users to upgrade their hardware to Intel Macs. Then again it could piss them all off into gradually abandoning the Mac platform and switching to PC.
It's not a good precedent, but inevitable at some point. Surprising that it's happening already though.

Was at Knox Street at opening and they said that there would be no iPads for sale today.
Also went by the AT&T Store on Oak Lawn yesterday. They said they weren't expecting iPads for another few weeks.

The iPhone may be the best smartphone overall, but it has a flaw when it comes to the most basic feature on a phone.
You are overstating it, just as the media had. Nobody who pays that much for a phone and values their money is going to walk around with a glass phone that is easy to break without a case. I probably should not have brought it up, but the point is that people will use cases for other reasons besides the reception. The case is required, not because of the reception, but because the phone is expensive. How someone will argue with that I don't know... I'm sure someone will figure out a way. ;) Also, the reception issue is only an issue in low-signal areas. But maybe you forgot that? idk...

I don't know what to tell you. Couple days after I installed 10.4.7 , major issues happened on my quad. I end up with my computer at Apple for repair and 3 weeks later they figure out a combination of 10.4.7 and my GT7800 card were the issue.
Now, I have a new GT card and I use 10.4.6. The kernel comes once a week. So the problem in some way still persist. I hope the new 10.4.8 will address this issue. If not I'll go back to Apple and request a new computer in exchange for the one I have.
I don't know, I love my quad but I have to say I was pretty upset with this whole fiasco. I wish Apple had a loaner program for professionals using powermac. That way we can still productive while the computer is being repaired. I would not mind to pay a little more on applecare to get such a service.
I have a Quad G5, GeForce 7800 GT, 4 GB RAM, and have had Mac OS X 10.4.7 installed on it ever since the update was available.
I have had absolutely 0 problems with it!
If this 10.4.7 update would have had a known issue with our setup, we surely would have known by now.
You are sure no hardware can be faulty? Any 3rd party stuff? No bad RAM?

Regarding touch buttons, my post above. Regarding pressing the wrong side in the dark, although I have done that a couple of times in the past, I think they make the button concave so you can feel where it is without looking. I (personally) think that a glow in the dark button would look tacky, especially because they glow in that eery green colour. :(

And I don't literally mean glow in the dark like those cheap Halloween things, I'm talking about an actual light behind the capacitive square symbol which has a sensor which turns on when there is a certain level of darkness.

There will MOST DEFINITELY be a good amount of fifth gen only apps, and even more 4th+5th generation only apps. Just like some of today's apps only support the 4 and 3GS.

Capacitive home button (and volume) is the way to go. Plastic makes the expensive feeling iPhone feel cheap. and it will just look sexy having the home button flush with the glass.
Another thing which hasn't been wanted as far as I know is the home button to glow in dark as it were. Pretty annoying to press the wrong side when you are in complete darkness.
