yeah, i'm not sure what time i'll head to the mall...probably sometime around 6-ish. at&t store is closer to where i live, but come on, who wants to go to an at&t store?
Not a matter of want, but of necessity. I tried the Apple store first, but they just said "duh... what?" when I asked if they could set me up with two phones and a family plan.
Thus, I went to the AT&T store; which is where I'll be at 7am next Friday. Sure, I'd rather be at the Apple store, but ultimately I'd rather have 2 new iPhones.

Here are a few things:
1.) Check you color sync profile.
2.) Load in a blank white picture and move it around the screen.
Are there really hot spots.
3.) Load in or create a b/w test 4 square test pattern. Do the same.
4.) Try these resolution test patterns.
SMPTE and BWH test patterns to download. (http://brighamrad.harvard.edu/research/topics/vispercep/tutorial.html)
5.) Are you a smoker, or is the screen in direct sunlight for a time?
Spotty yellowing may occur behind an in front of the screen from smoke and nicotine. Sunlight may damage a screen with UV.
If you find "hot spots" and have AppleCare, give Apple a call.
6.) If your dog does pee on the screen, it should just drip off. If it doesn�t, you dog may be diabetic. Glucose in the urine will cause it to stick.

What operating system and browser are you using?
The Apple symbols that you're able to see are just GIF images (one of the smilies provided by this message board is an Apple logo.) You can see this one (:apple:), because it's just an image. But you can only see this one () if you have the necessary fonts installed, which all iOS devices and Macs should.
I think you are dead-on. One of them is a font character which requires the Apple font installed, the other is an image.

how did you verify that the adapter you referenced on amazon will take a 24 pin zif cable? I'm reading elsewhere that adapters for this interface simply don't exist which doesn't make sense :(

This issue happens regardless of what programs are running. The program you see on the screenshot is Safari, with www.purple.us (the site has an embedded video). But this problem happens when Safari isn't running at all. In fact, it happens when I have quit out of all running apps (aside from Finder, obviously)

Since these two configurations seem to fit their needs perfectly I'm going for:

Additionally, I user Finder labels to highlight certain fonts within User/Library/Fonts -- some of the 'free' fonts I have are only licensed for specific or personal use, so I tag them with a Finder label in order to quickly check whether a font I've used in a pro job requires an upgrade to a pro license.
Every font management application I've used in 17 years of professional Mac use has interfered with my workflow to a degree that more than offsets any benefit it's provided.

My 15" PB has a similar smell. In my case, the odor is maximal if I sniff just below the touchpad button. I've been dealing with it my not putting my nose to the laptop and sniffing. Hopefully it isn't poisoning me slowly with toxic fumes...

I will hopfully be heading out to Covent Garden this afternoon to try to get my hands on one.... ATB Nick

Just curious to see how many have a apple laptop and and Ipad. Work just bought me a MBP last week and I already have a Ipad 2. Just trying to justify the two, maybe I sell the ipad 2 because I have to keep the laptop. By the way, I love both of them...I use the Ipad 2 for reading books, magazines etc...
