The white model looks far worse than the black model. Apple should have used the 3G design anyway, it was way better than the iPhone 4's design...
This.
You can at least carry a 3G/3GS around without worrying that the front and back of the phone will shatter from the slightest drop or bump.

The cost of this equipment will have to come down substantially before i even think about adopting it, i am not going to pay $50 for a disc and $1500 for burner, a quarter of that and i may be able to stomach it. I have encoded all my DVDs and put them on my mediagate player, when these become cheaper i can actually back them up:o

im more than sure your going to get another special event when Leopard launches and it will have iWork and iLilfe launched at the same time as it now seems these are integrating more than before....
Why have everything in the one day, when we now get the chance to sit back, take in what we just say and look forward to something else very soon..:
I have to admit this is a good point, we WILL be getting iWork, iLife and Leopard sometime soon, and most likely new hardware around the same time.

I'm having problems with resume. In Safari, preview and some other apps, when I quit it dose not resume. It only resumes when I right click the icon on the dock and go to quit from there. It won't work from the safari menu or with cmd Q. Is this a normal bug or can I do something to fix this. Also, Airdrop is not showing up in the Finder sidebar.

You do realize thatEurope's population is expected to fall catastrophically due to a low birth rate
Even if I assume this unsourced soundbite is true, there is a missing phrase: "without intervention."
If it really came down to it, the EU (or any other country/countries with a declining birth rate) could enact any number of policies or incentives to bolster the population, including making it easier for gay couples to adopt. So what?
The intervention should not be forbidding or discriminating against a group because of their sexual behavior. If it's all about the birthin' then they better start taking a hard look at those hetero scofflaws who don't want to have kids, too. *Gasp*

It's a bit long, but this is a good read about the state of FCP by Philip Hodgetts (http://www.philiphodgetts.com/2010/09/what-should-apple-do-with-final-cut-pro/):
A very big reason people go w/FCP is because it can do a lot for very little money. If it was priced more in line with Avid Media Composer or Avid Adrenaline I'll bet dollars to doughnuts it wouldn't have become as popular. Apple's typical method of operation when it comes to the ProApps is buy existing software, rebrand it and drop the price dramatically. The most recent, and most radical example, is Apple Color. Apple took what was previously a $25,000 color grading application and tossed it into the Final Cut Suite at no extra charge.
ProRes has only be around since FCP 6 and is one of the few additional features that Apple can really hang its hat on. While Premiere doesn't have any first part codecs along the same lines as ProRes it is more flexible and open to third party codecs than FCP is. A very good, and very popular, 3rd party codec is CineForm.
Lethal
Yeah I know Apple's policy on low pricing to sell hardware and I think it's brilliant. I don't know why they drop the software after a while though, discontinuing Shake didn't make any sense.
I'll read the QT article.

I receive 1080i HDTV signal via satellite. Gotta love MonstersHD. :DHow do you record shows on your Mac and archive into mp4 files?I can't! That's why I'm looking for a DVR solution. I can get an HD DVR receiver from Dish for $200 and that's looking like my best option at this point. I just garaged my Yamaha surround system and picked up a Samsung Home Theater system--the HT-Q70 system. 1,000 watts, 5 dvd carousel, HDMI out, plays DIVX and has a USB port that allows me to play DIVX movies off of a thumb drive. I think the HT-Q80 is out now and it has HDMI in and out.Bummer. I guess we're in the twilight zone of non-archival capability so far. Hopefully solutions will surface in the next 12 months. You guys are making me feel very lucky to have 3 off air HD sources (CBS, NBC, Fox) and 1 SD (PBS) that work with EyeTV 500. I didn't realize how hard it is for many others to get HDTV broadcasts off the air as well.

Apple/we should just ask for DVD-Video burning rights in exchange for limiting the number of iPods you can play a movie on. Be a fair trade, in my book. I'd use the iTMS store for movies if they did that. The ability to burn to regular CDs is what keeps me in the iTMS (I have some sort of legal, unrestricted backup right), and I don't think I am alone in this way of thought.

Like many other mid-sized and large companies, my current company also uses Lotus Notes. One of the features I like about Notes is address search. I can partially type in the name of my colleague and Notes retrieves the rest of the name (without me creating the address book). It gets awefully slow after the local server (meaning, the notebook's internal HD) reaches 1 GB data (for email); So, I had to create new local every 1 GB.
The Mac support for Notes would be good as that might open up a possibility my current employer's IT department might allow MBP for a company-issued notebook. As of now, it is all Dell.
Now that Notes will become more Mac friendly, the only other obstacle would be using AS400 database via Ramba.

Wrong category? Have you ever purchased or listed anything on eBay that was in the wrong category? I know I have. Does that deserve jail time?
There have been many time that I have purchased items on eBay as well that were described incorrectly. Now granted, when I have purchased these items, it was to my advantage or of no consequence. But I only knew that by reading and understanding the item description in the first place.
Don't get me wrong...I am not saying the buyer should have to pay. Just going through the experience and realizing how foolish he was should be enough to teach MOST people a lesson like that. I posted to respond to the fanatic that thinks that the seller should go to jail. He did nothing illegal. What he did was immoral, and morality is subjective.
i never said he did anything illegal, all i'm saying is how eBay and PayPal are operated, 99% of the time (and i'm not even exaggerating that) they will favour the buyer. that's nothing new. and the buyer has an advantage because it was listed in the wrong category, and the title was wrong. it was false advertising in a sense.

it cracks me up that people are making a big deal of 64bit. Sure, it'd be nice, but I'd rather have the software be multithreaded worth a rat's ass, and work properly.
Nothing quite brings the same joy to my heart as starting a render in FCP and having a look at Activity Monitor, and seeing a whopping two cores in use. Or having to export a QT file first because I can't send directly to Compressor.

GP jailbroken at 4.2.1 but now my camera doesn't work.
Any suggestions besides starting from scratch?
Thx!
Not a clue fella, although I would suggest posting in the iPhone/iPod touch forum whichever is applicable to your device

Santa was very good to me this year, like always. My "main" gift was a WiFi+3G Kindle with the Amazon case and a extended two year warranty, I've been wanting this for a while. I also got a bunch of Blu-Rays, lots of Amazon gift cards (according to the package two of them were from my dogs.lol), iTunes gift cards, some cloths, a new tripod for my DSLR, a really nice bracelet, and a few other nice stocking stuffer items.

Castle doesn't sound so Apple-ish in my opinion. Odd code name.
Haha, you think that's an odd codename?
Once Apple used "Carl Sagan" as a codename, for the Power Mac 7100.
Carl Sagan sued, so they changed it to BHA (Butt Head Astronomer.)
Apple's lawyer's were uncomfortable with that, so they changed it to LAW. (Lawyers are Wimps.)
