The last time I had surgery (January 2, 1986) I was knocked out via IV.
As for what it felt like...
They had put the IV in before I had gone into surgery, and it really wasn't that bad. When the doctor and his assistant showed up the anesthesiologist let me know that it was time.
He ask me to start counting backwards from 100. I felt a warm sensation moving up my arm from the IV and then into my chest. A moment later I felt like I was walking out of a fog... but I wasn't, I was lying in recovery... and I got sick.
It took a few minutes to finally become completely cognizant of my surroundings, but all and all it wasn't a bad experience. The time for the surgery was completely gone (as if it hadn't happened). It felt like (going from fully awake before the surgery back to fully awake again after) it had only taken a couple minutes (the surgery was about 4 hours as I recall).

No way in hell. They've already asked their developers to change app resolutions once. 3 screen sizes will never fly with developers.
99.999% likelihood of this being total nonsense.
More importantly if developers where paying attention they would have heard Apples very strong suggestion to avoid dependecies on screen size and resolution. Something Apple has been suggesting for years now.

Also if you don't have the apps on your iTunes, I believe that if you are logged into your iTunes account and click the purchase button for an app that you've purchased before, it will pop up a box that says you've already paid for that app and allow you to download it again. (I believe this is true, I'm just not 100% positive on this)

Haha, I remember being really late one DST morning that I had to work. I worked in a call center that was open 7 days a week, and I only realized I was late when one of my friends/coworkers called with a question that I was used to only taking at work, not at home. It was hilarious, at the time.

I think you're misinformed. The current models simply combined the 1/8" in and out jacks into one port (TRRS), just like the port on the iPhone. For example, you can plug your iPhone headphones into your Mac for use as a headset.

€1,675/Liter <--> €6,35/US Gallon
€6,35=$8,90/US Gallon.
So.. It's always been expensive but this is bad.

that's not the same thing at all. If your mom calls you on the phone and says "i can't run this new app because it says i need to update" you can walk her through it from 2000 miles away. If she's got an ipad and the next version of Angry Birds requires a new iOS version, and she doesn't have a computer, you can't talk her through that. unless you think this would work:
"OK, Mom, what you need to do is go to Best Buy, and go to one of the macs, and then open iTunes, and sync your ipad with it, and then do software update on it, and then erase your account info from the best buy mac, and that's all you have to do!"

If someone is going to specifically test disk read/write speeds then one needs to also look into and see if the SSD is the Toshiba or Samsung model. I for one have the Samsung model and scored higher on the disk test then his model.
+1 for at least testing a MBA with 4 gigs of ram.
I agree. I have 13 with 4gb ram. I have the slower TS128 and my Geekbench score goes from from 152 to 160. The 11" unit in test was in the 120's. I would think the 13" Ultimate would be above 160.:cool:

I love everything I can do with .mac, and I am willing to pay the $99 bucks for iDisk, Sync , etc. But please increase the storage space. I know it's been said 100 times, but 1 gb is just a joke.

Wouldn't that be so annoying in the dark, like the backlight on the keyboard of a MBP when your watching a movie?
I've thought about that but I personally cup my thumb around the bezel so I wouldn't notice it....

If Apple did jump into mobile phone smartphone world, do you think they'd maybe license Symbian, since of the established phone OSes it's the most flexible and customizable? They could pull a unix/OS X on the symbian OS, and since most of the US wouldn't know a symbian phone if it walked up to them, sucker punched them, screamed "SYMBIAN IS A RILLY GOOD OS" right into their ear and then left a calling card.

Thanks. I found out my D700 & 70-200mm VR ii is indeed weather proof at this match. Not much fun getting such an expensive toy wet for the first time, but nice to know it works.
This was a pretty unusual opportunity. I find you end up taking a lot of similar pictures at these games, so when you have an interesting setting with the mud, and the interesting contrast of the new player, it's a rare and nice opportunity. Happened fast though, his team mates had covered him with hand prints in seconds.
When I saw your muddy rugby photos, my first thought was how could they?? Oh yuck! Glad your camera can stand it though. Do you get scraping noises afterwards when you zoom? :) Loved the comment about him getting covered in handprints! :D
