well. i wish apple would allow record companies to sell cd's that are copy protected, with copies of songs in AAC fairplay protected. so that people can also use them digitally.

I am using my windows machine at work, when trying to check whether iTunes is up to date an error is displayed, saying, that the iTunes cannot connect to the server.

So, on the left side of the above linked page it says they're $120 and on the right side of the same page it says they're $140! So, which is it?Shipping is $20 on the right side they have all ready added it in. on the white set it says $120 on left and right, but if you notice it also says for local pick up. It's only when you hit the shipping tab that you can set it from local pick up to UPS ground. After that, both the white set and the black set are $140 after shipping. No Tax.

Apple products look unique from the outside, but in reality they are the same devices others have but in different packages.
Which makes all the difference. Night and day. As far as anyone is concerned, making tech usable and desirable to that degree is pretty innovative.

Before you assume that, try xUKHCx's suggestion. In testing on dormant threads, where others aren't voting constantly, it works accurately every time. This thread has 67 posts but 341 views... you don't know how many of those viewing are clicking to vote on various posts.
I do agree that you should be able to remove your vote, rendering a net change of zero, but otherwise, it appears to be accurate.
The Arabs invented 0 some time ago.

Yes, they are not compliments, but just comments. You can't really call that harassment, which is what you said. Its fine that you enjoy your apple products, but when you start a thread called "so many people envy iphone 4 owners," and claim other smartphone users are jealous of you because they cant afford an iphone (when android/palm/win7 phones cost about the same), then it seems a bit more fanboy-ish and snobby. Just don't say things like "people say things to me about such and such, so they must be jealous of me."
I actually agree with you. I'm not saying this phone is perfect, plenty of people have asked me about the pros and cons and I've told them, this might sound odd but I don't really understand the concept of being a fanboy over a phone. I mean, its just a phone. However, when people don't stop with the snide remarks and are constantly trying to compete when you don't care, it becomes somewhat annoying. I'm not saying that all other smart phones owners are jealous of my iPhone, I think we can all agree thats nonsense.
However there do seem to be people that are quick to compete and show their resentment for Apple when they see others with iPhones, the majority of comments in this thread confirm that.

I consider your post to spot on! I'm a Mac owner, but I must confess that I find most of my PC-owning friends to be refreshingly free of the type of smug, sycophantic, elitism some Mac people can't help but exhibit. Many PC owners I know wouldn't even recognize Steve Jobs, Steve Ballmer, etc. if they were introduced to them in the street.
Their sole concern is with having the best computer they can get for their individual needs, the software they can run, etc., not hero worship. Period. Some of them rate Macs quite highly. However, their view tends to be that, unless they're able to afford pro models, they're somewhat compelled to buy PCs because of graphical deficiencies in most consumer Macs.
Steve Jobs has achieved many great things & for that he surely deserves considerable respect. Some may consider him to be a genius. But if he's a genius, surely, like many other so-called geniuses, it's very likely that he's a flawed one. I don't mean flawed personally; after all, how would I know without knowing him? I mean it in the sense that the direction that he appears to be taking Apple in isn't, IMO (& that of many others), necessarily the best one.
That's just an opinion. I think that those who think that SJ & Apple are beyond criticism merely confirm the excellent points you've raised in your post.

As long as you had enough RAM, the right processor, and the right version of Mac OS X, it was supported. It hasn't changed in the low level requirements. :)
My machine didn't have enough RAM, so it was immediately rejected. However, they were doing me a favour because the dual and dual core G5s still had performance issues with it.

The problem is that the license says that the limitations can change at any time, so one doesn't really know what one buys, even if one has read the license - which I'm sure most people has not. I don't believe that the complaint is first and foremost about the DRM (which one may have opinions about exactly how it is implemented and shared but most anyway recognises it as a necessary evil) but rather what is summarised in these two sentences: "it is unreasonable that the agreement the consumer must give consent to is regulated by English law. That iTunes disclaims all liability for possible damage the software may cause and that it may alter the rights to the music". I think most of us agree that it is not reasonable that that which we buy can destroy anything on our computer and that they can e.g. suddenly just allow me to play a song just five times. And even though we all trust and like Apple these sort of licences are getting sillier and sillier (and it is certainlly not just Apple, it is basically the whole industry) and I think it is really good that someone who has the time and knowledge to fight it takes a stand against it, even though I believe shutting down the store may be overkill but I'm sure it won't come to that.

This is not a case, so far, of Apple abusing the customer so much as it is of Apple having so many customers. For real DRM abuse stories, check out what Sony did on some of the DVD's they sold. Or Napsters subscription service where you have rights to the music as long as you keep making the payments, every month. Or try to decipher M$'s DRM policy. Or try to sign up for Sony's Connect Store on a Mac.

Satisfying?, well that's pretty much impossible if you ask me. People have their own standards, some are satisfied with you understanding the basic language, some others just want to read perfect code or hear perfect English and can't tolerate a miss step.
I say show what you got (even it's a poor language) and follow your needs because you can never satisfy people expectations. Soon or later, you'll talk as good or better than them. It's only matter of will, time and patience.
I know they are all trying to help, but there are ways to tell people what they lack, and those ways are what make all the difference.
You can point out an error and give solution (sorry, "find solutions") or you can tell that person to quit what he's doing because he has no idea. It's a lot easier to say, go read Apples documentation than to point out an error and explain it yourself.

Here in England thats a pretty common figure of speech that people use all the time. It doesn't mean literally ages. I forgot this was an American forum, but what does that have to do with anything anyway?
I'm from the US and I even understood what you were saying. It's just figurative language. It looks like people just want something to rant on you about.
Same here, and I understood what you meant as well. From now on, instead of the word "ages", say "I've had my iPhone for a time, times, and half a time". That should make 'em stop and think a little!:D
