However, this article (http://portal.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=1062325) said that we'll need 1 zettaflops for full weather simulation. That's 10^21 operations/second!
10^21 operations per second and it'll still be wrong.
I don't think the weatherman is shaking in his boots just yet.:D

Well it's been almost 1 year after introduction of Iphone 4 and there is only ONE out of FOUR basebands that is unlockable via ultrasn0w - 01.59.00
Long story short now all I have is 03.10.01 and have been saving it for the past few FW updates (via tinyumbrella etc). But I was wondering if I am just worrying for nothing if there will never be unlock for this baseband? I mean there is no unlock even for 02.10.04 either and it's older baseband than mine..

I have sent an email to my manager here at Gateway with a link to that article to see if we can get iPods to keep up with Dell. I will be interested to see what they say. "Ah... well ...hmmm... maybe if we hadn't run those ads bashing the iMac... damn."
Guess maybe you should be careful who you go around trashing on TV.

Has there been any word on if you will be able to upgrade directly to the full released version from the preview builds?
Whats the best way to backup the entire SL install so that if I wanted to go back I could just reinstall it without having to reinstall all the apps?

I have a 2011 MacBook pro 15 inch and the iPad 1.... I use the iPad mostly for reading books and listening to podcast, and MBP for everything else. You can't beat the iPad for portable reading. I think you should keep them both. :D

It was originally 250 and it was one that was up for the 100 dollar rebate. When i ordered it the website said that it was on back order adn that it would probably take 6 weeks to get here, which did not bother me seeing as i did not need it right away.
I just called them and they said it was discontinued and that they no longer carried it. Meaning that i ordered a printer 5 weeks ago that in the end would never get here. I am peeved because when i ordered the printer it was not discontinued. And while there are some other printers availible they are not the ones that i want!! I want the one i ordered 5 weeks ago.
Apple should at least honor the orders that were mad for that printer before it was discontinued!!Seems to me that the reason the printer was originally on backorder was that it HAD been discontinued (by the manufacturer), but Apple didn't know that yet... all they knew was that they were out of stock and that the product was backordered for that reason. As soon as they found out that no more printers would be available, they e-mailed everyone who had the printer on backorder and let them (and you) know that it would not be available.
Tough break, but you can't expect Apple to conjure a printer for you out of thin air. Perhaps they will give you a comparable rebate on a similar printer, but they're under no obligation to.

Look in your book for exactly what you're supposed to use for #import. You may have made a mistake.
I'm not sure, but #import <Fraction.h> seems wrong to me. If Fraction.h were a system-provided class, it would be correct. But it's a developer-created class, so #import "Fraction.h" seems more sensible to me, and is what I've always used when referring to class headers I create.
Post your code.
No one with any programming experience would believe anyone (beginner or experienced) who says there are no compilation errors, unless the code has actually been compiled without errors. You may be right, but we need to see the evidence of the compiler.
Thanks! Your answer helped. So now I know that <**> are only for system provided classes. I used quotes for Fraction.h and it worked.
The example that I used had everything dumped in the main .m file along with the main function.

Hey guys
Got a bit of an interesting occurance with my Powerbook G4 12" 1.33. Quite a while ago I dropped my bag with it inside, causing the corner of the frame to bend a bit and make it difficult to plug the power in, and make it stay. Finally, I decided to open it up and try to bend the frame back with the help of pbfixit. To my shock and horror, as I was unscrewing the keyboard from the underneith, I'm pretty sure I shocked the logic board where there it pokes through beside the RAM expansion slot  I nervously put it all back together, and to my delight, it worked. Or did it?
My first KP occured while running tiger. I was unplugging the power, and as it changed power saving modes it crashed. I thought "oh well Ill just have to deal with this", but it turned out to not be such a regular occurance. KP's started happening with more frequency, in random places. Power plugged in or battery, many apps open or just a few. Highly frustrating. Unfortunately at this point I hadn't read about the log file so I didn't actually look at what the error messages were...
In desperation earlier today, I installed panther to see if that might somehow work. To my dismay, about 30 minutes after installing it I received another KP while just idling. At this point I started searching the forum, and figured out how to get the logs. Here is the one from that time:
Thu Dec 15 15:11:51 2005
panic(cpu 0): Uncorrectable machine check: pc = 0000000022715B38, msr = 0000000000149030, dsisr = 40000000, dar = 00000000173CA004

what if i go on a subway and lose service? would i have to unlock it again??
No you do not.
It will find the wireless signal when it becomes available, you do not need to go through the unlock process.
Only when you turn the phone off and back on, (or turn off/on the airplane mode), you will need to unlock it again.

It's not an unreasonable expectation. Apple might not 'owe' you anything - but at this stage the OP hasn't made the purchase - they are trying to negotiate the purchase. Apple have announced they are updating software soon, OP could wait and buy later, or buy now. Apple would prefer buy now, so it's an exchange, OP agrees not to hold off on his purchase, Apple agrees to give him free software (the marginal cost of which, by the way, is essentially nil).
Or should we not try to negotiate with the almighty Apple gods?
Hey - there is only one Apple god and his name is Steve! ;)

I have been working on a magazine for this whole week (Quark Xpress v6) and finally got it signed off yesterday. Shut down the computer and had a well earned drink.
When I turned on the computer this morning the document has reverted back to last Tuesday! (meaning a lot of lost work).
Would this have anything to do with changing permissions? (I did play around with file info on some other files.)
I have 15 other jobs going and they all seem to be fine.
I have dual 80gb hard drives - and yes, after every big lot of changes I backed up the job - but the backup drive says the same!! Anyone with any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is the server Apache? If so, just pop a .htaccess file in the dir with this in it.
Options All -Indexes
what permissions do I set on that file?
and do I need to put it in every directory? I was hoping for something global.
